We’re at Limmud till Wednesday morning, then drive home and go for a Chinese in Chinatown. Then home for candle lighting and doughnuts 🍩

What about you?

invited a bunch of people over for candlelighting. We are having chinese food that I and one of our guests are making. (no kosher chinese place in our city alas)

might serve some latkes and doughnutes as well. I am sure Chinese people would like them.

Chinese takeout here! I do like being in the USA at Christmastime as people are generally more understanding about not celebrating Christmas when you are Jewish, and the Chinese restaurants are open. I will do sufganiyot Thursday instead.

As dh is not Jewish, we have a secular Christmas of presents and a big feast. And in the evening we will light the first candle, with the blessings and prayers, sing songs and play dreidle. But we've agreed no latkes or donuts on the first night - just too much food already. Later in the festival...

@Dilbertian that sounds lovely to do both. Have a brilliant day

That's lovely @Dilbertian

Aaah @Dilbertian we've had this problem too, my kids are still little and we live in a small town in Scotland so believe in Santa 🙈. So we've done Santa presents and Christmas dinner etc and it was just A LOT. But I'm half (mostly really) Israeli so want to do sufganiyot and dreidel and all that shizzle 🤣. But as my lovely neighbour reminded me I've got 7 more days to celebrate and their stuff will be done after today!
