Now being accused of gaslighting for...telling the truth.

Over and out for a bit. That place is toxic and attracting some of the most racist twats I've ever encountered.

79Helene · 29/05/2024 20:42

I had a post deleted there just for calling blatant and disgusting antisemitism, which included a personal attack on someone else here. I wasn't aggressive (unlike the poster), and didn't say anything that wasn't very patently true.

MN want you to challenge posts rather than delete them. So you challenge it, and that's not the right thing to do either. This place is fucking nuts, that board needs proscribing.

Yes - it's bizarre. It seems almost better just to report, report and report en masse and hope enough get deleted and bans given out. So many new names everyday though.

I just realised a post has been deleted on the previous page of this thread - I guess our spies are back (or maybe they never left). Weird behaviour either way.

Yes scrolled back and saw that.

Cooee!

Ok ok I’m going to hang out on here 🙏 thank you for all the love ❤️

I'm probably not going to post on citme for a bit, I do need the respite, unless there are hostage updates (please Gd good ones).

have a lovely day all, it’s my birthday this week, and DH and I are going to go out 🎂

Glad to see you still here @EllaDisenchanted ! Yes definitely avoid that board - not convinced it's a good source of anything sensible, least of all hostage updates.

And in the unlikely event that you find yourself missing any of the regular posters, you can console yourself with the fact that some of them are clearly here making sure we don't step out of line 😉👋👋👋

...and happy birthday! 🎂

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/05/2024 09:23

FWR was, in my view, not so much about clickbait but about making sure that the discussion wasn't the sort to upset potential advertisers such that moderation felt one-sided and unfair. At the time, FWR was swimming against a popular tide. I suspect similar is happening with the CiME.

DownNative · 30/05/2024 12:52

Saw one or two problematic posts earlier, so will have to take a closer look at them later.

Well After a sabbatical I see the frothers are carrying on their trend and demanding....the pro Israelis answer for themselves.

Every thread. Cime is a shitshow. Usual suspects. They don't want to debate they want to bully and you know.... the usual....

@EllaDisenchanted let's stay on here :)

Yes I saw that.

SpuytenDuyvil · 30/05/2024 14:38

Chaverim, I blocked CITME ages ago and it has been much more pleasant for me around these parts. I come here to see all of you and hear your reasoned thinking. I do read the actual news so I am informed about what is actually happening without the insane madness of that board. Sending kisses across the miles.

pepperaunt · 30/05/2024 17:00

I gave up looking at CITME when I realised that I was becoming obsessed with the idea that all of my non-Jewish friends were thinking that way

PurpleChrayn · 30/05/2024 17:26

I've vowed not to look at the CITME threads.

I deleted Instagram and Facebook off my phone when the AllEyesOnRafah thing started. I use Insta for work so I just access it on my computer. I feel so much better not having the constant torrent of news.

0palfruitsalad74 · 31/05/2024 09:14

Can I get something off my chest...I don't fancy doing this elsewhere on MN:

STARMER ISN'T PURGING LEFT WING CANDIDATES AND MPS, HE'S GETTING RID OF ANTISEMITES IN HIS PARTY AND THAT IS A GOOD THING.

Phew, that's better 😅

If it helps, I don't know any Christians who think that way. I'm sure they're out there, but it's not common in my experience. The priest at my church regularly preaches about how antisemitism is incompatible with Christian teachings.

stomachamelon · 31/05/2024 11:27

I am finding it much harder (and probably bad for my blood preasure) to ignore the wolves in sheep's clothing that pop up on threads. Vile anti Jew opinions on one thread, simpering 'oh how terrible' on another.
Beware!

YesHesAPlonker · 31/05/2024 11:56

It's depressing how easily people fall for manipulative propaganda- thank you @DownNative for the useful links.

I'm a non Jewish academic, many of my friends are academics, a few have posted uncritical "ceasefire now" messages on FB, interestingly none of them posted the Rafah meme. My strategy is not to engage, but to (periodically) simply post critical, factual, informative posts.

I'm more gung ho on Twitter X

Hoping the strategies are appropriate for the different audiences.

Love and solidarity to you all.

PurpleChrayn · 31/05/2024 12:26

DownNative, I always enjoy your posts. Thank you.

Meanwhile I'm listening to the weekly pro-Hamas protest gearing up outside the library at the bottom of my road.

I'm about to go and deliver a Shabbat meal to a lady in our community who has just had a baby, so I will focus on Jewish joy!

You're welcome and thank you, @YesHesAPlonker!

I like that you've been thinking about the most appropriate strategy for each SM platform and audience. Shows awareness of the problem itself.

Strength to all here!

They're really not. I'm not Jewish, and the CITME board is one I avoid. It is usually utterly toxic and one-sided.

Shabbat Shalom to all of you.
