What is the title of the thread? I don't click on anything on that board if without a good reason. I don't want to give them any page views.
A Jewish mum in NYC and her Roman Catholic husband were attacked at a year 5 leavers ceremony by an Arabic speaking couple. The man doing the attacking has been arrested and charged with assault, but curiously, not a hate crime.
NYC Jewish family pummeled at 5th-grade commencement by attendees shouting ‘Free Palestine,’ mom says
I think the rise in these spontaneous acts of hatred are on the rise because too much tolerance has been shown for the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel demonstrations as they became violent, starting with the ones at Columbia and NYU recently. That teaches the lesson that violence is okay if you are "protesting". The only bright spot here is that the current mayor of NYC, Eric Adams, has been strongly pro-Israel and is a former NYC Police Captain. He is a vast improvement over his predecessor, "big bird" Bill De Blasio, who never met a far-left cause he wouldn't embrace. Here is Adams giving a speech shortly after 7 October.
I did make it to church this morning (on time, too!) but was a bit miffed to discover that our rector, who is a woman, was on holiday this week with her husband and two little boys. Her husband is also an Episcopal priest, and marriages between them are quite common. Even worse, the supply priest they hired to do the services this morning was a bloke, and he spent 90% of his sermon scolding us about climate change. Apparently, if you drive an EV and have solar panels on your roof, that's good, but nowhere near sufficient. We need to return to being a preindustrial agrarian society. I was tempted to ask him as I left if he was going to forego modern medical care and replace his car with a horse, but I restrained myself somehow. 😁
Mother Jenny will be back next week, fortunately.
