The willful ignorance and refusal to see anything apart from what you want to see on the other board is astonishing.

We come here to decompress, bit of a shoulder rub and a swig of water then back to 'aibu on crack' for round..whatever number it is now.

The anonymity of the internet allows people to say hateful things and the reporting pixies look for offence to delete posts and silence voices.
That's part of their little propaganda war. I was reporting posts that I found divisive or hateful but now I'm more likely to let them stand so the lurkers can form their own judgement.

Mumsnet has a surprisingly political influence. We represent a few million voters in the UK and many of us are well educated & well qualified in diverse fields.

Got a lovely email from the mods yesterday about a ban.

I think reporting can help the mods to learn more about AS in some cases.

It's a sweet thought, but not sure it's accurate. They don't seem to want to learn anything.

It really drives me bananas that there is a Jewish board and a Muslim board and we both have the exact same complaints when it comes to moderating threads but instead of joining forces to try and get MN to take anti-semitism and Islamophobia seriously we're just arguing about who has it worse 🙃

I don't have faith in the moderating. I mean there's yet another thread with the underlying motivation being to 'other' Jews. It's quite simply inciting hatred towards Jewish people. And it's not Muslim women starting these threads. It's obsessive shit stirring at best, if not downright sinister.

I agree @79Helene . I lean towards the thinking that it is sinister.

Yes, I also think the moderating is inconsistent and illogical. Mumsnet bans people for stating certain things on its forums.

Yet deletes comments supporting a terrorist organisation but doesn't ban those people who make them. As far as I'm concerned, that's worse than the reasons they ban people for as support for terrorist groups is strictly prohibited in the UK and across the EU.

I've been thinking about the rubbish someone posted nearly a week ago of "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter". A few thoughts on that to come.

They've been spouting that "freedom fighter" nonsense for months now, yet they deny that anyone on the board supports Hamas. It's gaslighting at it's most obvious as the proof is there in black and white, yet they pretend it isn't. It's ridiculous.

I'm genuinely sitting here laughing out loud at someone saying the pro-Israel marchers aren't doing enough and that thankfully the other side are so active in calling for a ceasefire because they're the only ones who care (I'm Nincompoopies - name-change fail after I tried creating a new username to use on other boards but then ended up using it on CITME instead 🤦🏻‍♀️).

Like, I don't even know where to begin 😂😂

It is so nice visiting this board - feels so relaxed and friendly after other boards.

On the cats board you have to prove your credentials by posting a cat tax by way of a cute kitty pic. And quite right too.

We could take inspiration and post a challah tax or kneidlach tax.

Great idea, although not sure there's a way of making kneidlach look good. Maybe we could just state our preference for floaters or sinkers?

(for anyone unfamiliar, kneidlach are matzah balls. Some people like them to be dense so they sink to the bottom of the soup and others like them to be light and fluffy so they float. These people belonging to the latter group are wrong.)
