Purim - Mishloach Manot

Hello!

As Purim is coming up in a few weeks I was wondering if anyone has started thinking about fun Mishloach Manot ideas. I don't mean ones that belong on Instagram, but rather ones my young children can help me put together! Like, maybe some suggestions of how we can gift a decorate-it-yourself hamentaschen or biscuit of some sort? I know it's meant to be food that is ready to consume, but the biscuits will be - I just think it would be fun for there to also be an option to decorate them.

For anyone reading who is not familiar, Purim is a Jewish holiday where it is customary to give away small parcels of edible things to ensure everyone has something to eat. It's a really fun holiday where people put on fancy dress, celebrate and drink lots of wine!

Not thought for myself yet, but in previous years I did the butterfly snack bags https://www.google.com/search?q=butterfly+snack+bags&rlz=1C5CHFA_enGB808GB810&oq=butterfly+snack+bags&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgBEAAYgAQyBwgCEAAYgAQyCAgDEAAYFhgeMggIBBAAGBYYHjIKCAUQABgKGBYYHjIICAYQABgWGB4yCAgHEAAYFhgeMggICBAAGBYYHjIKCAkQABgPGBYYHtIBCDI4NjFqMGo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#vhid=JFY3Q3RYupLc3M&vssid=l, which I might do again, and the robots (needs hot glue gun, but kids can stick on the googly eyes) https://craftycreativekathy.wordpress.com/2013/10/30/snack-robot/

I prefer to do something healthyish if possible, and relatively low cost.

I've seen cute biscuit things like you've described in the past - e.g. an artist theme, with biscuits, and then i think the icing is a paint palette or something. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/543528248754601503/ - looks a bit more complicated. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/538883911668863592/ or this is adorable, but depends if you can get paintbrush tops (maybe cheap in the works?!)

Temu/shein is great if you want to order packaging, or the works (i am not affiliated lol)

For the adults, if you are joining someone else's seuda, if you bring a couple things for the meal, you are usually covered anyway.

Esther O has lots of ideas https://estherodesign.com/blogs/esther-o-design/tagged/mishloach-manos

and between carpools if you want to do a theme... https://betweencarpools.com/everything-you-need-for-your-purim-theme-mishloach-manos/

BTW the biscuits thing, even with icing on the side, will be totally fine, both are edible as they are. I once got given a cake mix in a jar (all the dry ingredients of a cake, layered, and instructions for what to add (eggs and oil probably) and to bake). That might have been more questionable halachically, but chances are they gave other things too, and it's only supposed to be 2 foods to one person, so if you bring two things to the seuda like I said, you're sorted anyway and everything else is just for fun :)

also from bitter experience, don't do anything you need to keep in the fridge, unless you have an army of helpers (I wish), and a giant fridge (nope!), because you will 100% end up assembling them either on the morning of purim, or up late after megilla, and delivery is a headache!
