I'd like to have something more festive, since it's DS's first Chanukah, and the first year when DD properly understands. We've had these lame ones for years.

Does anyone have anything cool or special to recommend??

I buy good-quality, shiny wrapping paper and make paperchain people. Only not just people: paperchain dreidels, paperchain stars, paperchain candles etc. if I'm feeling particularly ambitious I can even run to paperchain jugs

I have some lovely silver tinsel with 6-pointed stars, that I've saved year after year. Always on the lookout for more.

That's a good idea! I will give it a go if I can get my hands on some nice wrapping paper.

I have dreidel fairy lights that go up every year! Wasn't sure about putting them up in the front of the house this year but decided to go for it. I'm hoping the fact we're surrounded by lots of other Jewish families here will keep us safe.

I've been trying to find window clings / stickers but no luck so far. Been looking for years! Tk Maxx often have random Chanukah stuff this time of year. At least online!

Oh and I've got some drawings my oldest did a couple of years ago that go up every Chanukah. He used Chanukah themed stencils and then coloured them in. He was maybe 4 or 5 at the time so they're by no means amazing, but I love them 😍

Amazon usually have decorations too.

I need to be more giant. Buy big boxes (which are going to be disappointing when opened to reveal small bags of gelt) and then set them on fire. Maybe get some hanukkiah with random numbers of arms to keep things more of a surprise.

Her necklace is also interesting, I'm not sure quite what it is meant to be.

I bought a singing Hanukkah llama. TKMaxx obviously. The kids absolutely love it. My husband is a lot less keen 🤣

I need to finish painting my window Hanukkiah and then I draw a new flame on each evening. I'll post a picture tomorrow!

This is the fella. We are calling him Mac. He came with a little book telling the story of Hanukkah which llamas are Jews and Antiochus is the leader of the evil mountain goats
