Anyone else feel this way?

My parents died a few years ago. I miss them every day. But some part of me is glad they were not alive to see the horrendous Hamas attack. They were gentle and peace-loving. They truly believed that a peaceful 2-state solution would be reached and that both parties wanted it. It would have destroyed them.

Yes I feel like that about my grandmother, have said so on a couple of threads.

Sounds so horrible to admit I am relieved she is dead

The idea of her having to deal with what happened to people on 8th October and of her living in London during these protesters is horrific. Seeing some of the more antisemitisc signs and behaviour. She wouldn't have been able to cope with any of this. It would have destroyed her and made her a nervous wreck

I'm American and my sister and I said the same thing when that horrible antisemitic march took place in Charlottesville, Virginia. We were, for the first time, grateful our parents weren't alive to see that. They left Germany because of Hitler and now look at all this. Terrible.
