Ian Payne last night LBC - how to complain

Was anyone else listening to Ian Payne on LBC last night?

He was doing a phone in inviting Jewish callers to explain how they now feel about their safety/antisemitism in the UK ( I paraphrase)

A woman called in and said that anti-semitism is so ingrained people dont realise they're doing it - even when people try to express sympathy the tropes come out - she said someone said to her how terrible it was what had happened even though all the Jews control the media and banks...

and Ian Payne ( ok , he's not the brightest spark) said, oh I know Hollywood Agents are all Jews...

I mean wtf? where do I complain? Contact us page at LBC doesn't help .

sorry, it wasnt last night - it was this morning on his 4-7 show. It was the middle of the night when i was listening...broken sleep.

That’s so dreadful. I’d suggest going to Ofcom, and highlighting there was no way to complain directly to LBC either.

He was using an analogy I thought...

it didnt sound like that to me. He didnt say: I know......Hollywood agents are all Jews.

He said: I know Hollywood agents are all Jews.

Maybe you are right...but it sounded really off to me.

People should be extremely mindful of their language, and not stoking the fans of anti-semitism. Regardless of intention, he shouldn’t have said that because extremists will latch on to that and it becomes normalised.

I think some of these presenters are out of their depth. The other early morning presenter Jim Diamond, also made a stupid comment but I suspect it was more in panic/tongue tied response rather than malice. However any presenter has a duty to respond responsibly.
On the other hand Iain Dale has been truly amazing in his genuine and emotional outrage, Sheila Fogarty has been wonderful..and James O'brien (though far from perfect) has come a long way in his understanding of truth, facts and anti semitism.

I got a reply from LBC.

'no offence meant' and ' comments have been discussed with LBC's management team and Ian's producers'.

I want to reply about how his comment illustrates exactly the callers point about ingrained antisemitism, even when 'no offence is meant'. I dont think they get it.
