Hello.

Dh and I are planning to open a Vanguard S&S ISA to stick some cash in monthly for 8-10 years ideally.

I've read that Vanguard are upping their fees...are they worth the fees?

They still come top in S&S ISA reviews.

Any tips/advice?

Can use other platforms e.g. Hargreaves Landsdown to invest in the Vangard fund.

They have recently upped their fees so not great if you're below around the 40K total amount.

However they are still quite low and don't have the other small print fees that other platforms have.

I have been with them for a while and very happy with them including the new app and their phone support.

I’m with vanguard and have been for years. Very happy with them. They only offer their own. Others to consider are 212; AJBell, Close Brothers; Hargreave Landsdowne etc. Don’t just look at the main fees but also the investments you’ll be choosing and the fees attached to each of those. For example with vanguard emerging markets costs 0.23%; whereas their ftse dev world ex Uk is something like 0.14% Obviously you don’t choose your funds on the costs but do look. Also look at trading fees as some charge when buying selling switching etc. Vanguard don’t unless you want real time ETFs.
