Which is best am trying to work through the numbers bu think it is close...my mortgage is 5.5% at moment that I am paying, I have savings in a F&C investment trust bit can't work out the rate of return on the investment trust to compare the two...

I feel I may be better paying off mortgage than investing...can anyone help?

Thanks

My only two bits worth is that you know you can reduce your mortgage by paying into that. Investments can be EXPECTED to make X% over time but returns are not guaranteed. Warren Buffet says it’s not timing the market, but time IN the market ie needs to be in investments for a long tome to give good returns.
Could you put a bit toward both?

google msc overpayment calculator

it’s so simple to use and there’s a little bit for investments (poss predict a 4% growth)

it takes less than a minute

brilliant tool
