Pensions

What is a good pension value these days? Also when you log in to the various portals, it gives me a value. Is that what it is worth today or when you’re 67 or whatever? Also my pension keeps going up and down like a yo-yo. It can go up or down £10,000 within days of each other. Why is this? Also would you recommend combining all? I have 4 different pension pots and some random one that is company owned though I was making a pittance years ago so doubt it is worth much!

No one can give a definitive answer as it depends on so many factors.

How old are you?

25 x your annual expenditure in retirement is a rough guide.

Check fees etc before combining, but it’s often a good idea and certainly good for admin.

the value is today’s value. You can project it yourself using online calculators, excel or check your annual statements for a projection.

yes, if worth 100,000s can easily fluctuate 10k a day. Don’t check it daily!
