It can't just be me..... I contacted X to enquire about a maturing investment. I logged on, gave policy number and then password, but I'd mistyped it, so tried again being very careful. Still no joy, so typed on 'change password', still no joy. Tried again, and then got to 'create numerical password'. Couldn't do that, the security system wouldn't let me in so to cut a long story short I tried a telephone number and did get a real person, We went through the preliminaries again then it got really weird. 'Can you answer some security questions?' 'Yes' 'what is your brothers name? 'I haven't got a brother!' ' You must have. It's a security question!' 'I haven't and never have had'
Now comes the interesting part......Well, just give me a name- any name.' 'OK Fred'.....'Thanks. Now can you give me the name of your oldest child' ' I don't have any children!!!!!' ' Well, just give me any name......
You really couldn't make this up. These are random security questions by a reputable company.
In the end they're sending me a form to fill in! I just want my money!
