Best Investment Platform for SIPP?

MrPickles73 · 07/11/2022 16:38

I have a SIPP with Hargreaves Lansdown but am increasingly aware it is not the cheapest platform. I have a selection of shares, investment trusts, index trackers etc in my SIPP.
I'm wondering if I should stick with H-L or put 'new' pension money in a different platform. Or is it not worth the hassle to have two SIPPs with different providers?

I'd be interested in this too @MrPickles73

Our SIPPs are with AJ Bell which was a cheaper option at the time, haven’t checked recently though.

Websites like Boring Money, Money Saving Expert and the Lang Cat help with making comparisons.

Thank you Senex Wink

Have you looked into Interactive Investor and Aj Bell?

I have Interactive Investor. Last time I checked, Interactive Investor was cheaper than AjBell once your assets are above a certain threshold; below that, Aj Bell works out cheaper.

It depends how much you’ve got. When I’ve been looking (don’t have a sipp yet so may be wrong) HL and the fixed percentage ones seem cheaper when you don’t have very much but once you’ve hit about £100k the fixed rate platforms are better value.

Depending on how close you are to retirement you might want to check what the reviews for customer service is like for drawdown. It may well be worth paying a little bit more for better service at that point.

Boring money is excellent. They have a site for women in their 40s,50s and 60s called Visible which is good
I'm with vanguard, reasonably priced and fair choice

I use Vanguard after many recommendations on here.
