Should I get contract checked by solicitor?

I am investing a large sum to some reasonably trusted acquaintances soon, which will go into property. They've sent a contract, but of course as I am not a solicitor, I have no idea how watertight it is.

Should it be checked by a solicitor?
If so, who should pay?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Yes . Get it checked out independently.

Reasonable trusted acquaintances sounds like a recipe for disaster and you loosing your money.

Also contracts are great ‘en all but will you be named on the property deeds?. I wouldn’t touch this kind of thing - yes a solicitor needs to look over it, you need to find one who specialises in this type of law - who pays can be negotiated between parties. You are trusting - very trusting
