I've become self-employed after time out of work and really need to sort out a pension. I'm very confused by all of the different terms and options. I had a free session with a supposedly independent financial advisor, but I can't help but wonder how independent he is if he offers his services for free. Surely, he's got a potential agenda to push the products he gets more of a % from.
A Sipp looks interesting, and from research Vanguard looks like it could be a good bet. BUT, I know what I'm like - I won't have the time to dedicate to managing my funds and don't have the knowledge to know where to invest. So, I've discovered robo sips seem to be a thing, which look like the best of both world, but there doesn't seem to be much info out there about them. Does anyone have any knowledge or tips?
FWIW I'm 40 and relatively low income but have savings I can put into it and will make sporadic contributions as and when.
