Crypto platforms

Heres hoping I've got the terminology correct!
Please could I have a suggestion regarding a trading platform to invest in crypto?
And if anyone can, pros/cons of platforms.
And anything else I might need to know!
Thanks in advance

Coinbase is by and large the easiest, most available and very safe.

As you get more into it, you can get a lot more advanced with Binance, Bitfinex, Mercatox, Kucoin. Works well for day trading and advanced trading options. Most won't need this.

Or even go completely exchange-less with decentralised tokens in a defi wallet. This area is wild west and you need to be very careful right now. It'll likely get more foolproof as web3 matures.

Yup, coinbase is the easiest to start off with.

You ask for a "trading platform to invest".

I'm not clear whether you are wanting to trade (ie buy and sell frequently), if so, go for platforms that have low fees) or invest (ie hold onto your coins for a while), if so, pick your coins then explore where you can stake them for interest).

Platforms mentioned above are more trading rather than investing platforms (although Binance also offers some staking, I believe). Coinbase offers staking for some coins, but if you want to trade, use coinbase pro as the trading fees are MUCH cheaper.

As cryptodad says, defi is the wild west, but once you get familiar with crypto and know what you are doing, dip your toes in (just watch out for the piranhas)

Coinbase is the biggest and possibly easiest, albeit expensive. Coinbasepro is cheaper to trade, but can look a bit overwhelming.

Crypto.com app works well and Is a bit more user friendly.

If you are goig to buy a few coins, and see how it goes, then Crypto.com could be a good shout. Easy to fund, and buy.
