So with speculation out there that Amazon will be allowing you to purchase with Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) and Tesla currently allowing payments via Bitcoin, do we and our children need to be educated in Cryptocurrency?

It seems the world is changing before our very eyes.

Has anyone heard of NFT's? People buying virtual art, speculation that soon we can own celebrities, roads, places all in a virtual world - trade with them, sell them on..

You have to dig hard to find this other world that is running alongside the one we live in and will it take over one day? Will we be living off Cryptocurrency and if so, do schools need to start education our children?

I don't want to be left behind!

It's all speculative and incredibly volatile. The technology is relatively sound and has a number of uses. It is quite vulnerable to cyber crime which is a worry, and as it's completely unregulated, there is no protection.

Yes, I think everyone should be start to be educated as it'll likely have a long term impact on the world. It's a bit of a gold rush at the moment though and there'll be plenty of winners and losers.

Yes, but IMHO, same as all other topics, e.g. machine learning and quantum computing, everyone should grasp at least the basic concept. The easiest learning method is to put your hands to it - start to buy a very small amount on it, join the community to learn and look back your decision a few months after. Try to audit everything in the process.

I'd say it's more advanced topic. First you have to believe the crypto prevailing the future world. If you can convince yourself and put some real money into it, you can then look into the NFTs and see if you are convinced by their concepts. Personally I am optimistic to NFTs but I believe lots of them are overpriced. They all have the values but their real values may worth only a few satoshi.

Same as machine learning / quantum computing - the academic curriculum is always late catching up the society needs. So, equip yourself first and educate your kids at home ;-)

Yes, everyone should know what bitcoin is, how to use it and how to secure it.

Banano is a great way to introduce primary school aged children to crypto-currency principles. They can get some from a faucet and send them back and forward to you. They arent really worth anything, but its a great method of getting children to understand the principles.

Yes absolutely crypto is going to be huge, we’ll huger than it is already. The issue at the moment is volatility it’s not going to overtake fiat currency for a while when it has swings fo 30% in a day.

Absolutely great idea to try and learn a little more about this and share it with the kiddies.

There are plenty of basic resources online including easy videos and so on.

For me I think the most important aspect of it all is the block chain and decentralisation.

Economist are doing a few small pieces on NFTs. I think a new one is coming out this week. Very clear and helpful. There’s a much bigger use for them than just artwork. Potential is huge.
