Isa question

Hello! I’m just wondering whether an Isa product exists whereby the capital is not at risk? Like an investment Isa which guarantees original capital returned. I have some money to invest but as it’s earmarked for school fees I cannot stand to lose it but want to try and grow it in some way. Sorry for what may be a stupid question....! Smile

Not as far as I know. There's cash ISAs which will return capital plus interest but all are under inflation atm.

Or there are investment ISAs which do not guarantee capital being returned but on average will go up by more than inflation. I have one with Vanguard and you can see how much it is worth each day and get the money back within a few days or so, don't have exact control over selling price but they sell at next available opportunity within a few days. Mine initially went down £400 to £19,600 in first month or so and is now up £20,900, started in April. Vanguard have low fees and a variety of funds and you can see last 5 years performance.

Looks like there may be a few but returns are only slightly above cash and not guaranteed and given that interest rates may rise over the medium term they don't look a great choice.

This seems to guarantee getting your capital back if you leave it for 10 years. No choice of funds, though, and it’s likely to be quite low return. I think other friendly societies might offer similar things.
