1k investment

Because of covid been saving a bit as barely spending.
Where would you spend around 1k ? I already have a regular saver , premium bonds and a some bonds.

I’d like easy access / being able to increase more money every month if needed. Apart from isas which are next to nothing at the moment in return is there any other options?

Btw premium bonds 5 years and only won £25. Tell me I’m not the only unlucky one :)

I've just opened an instant access called Marcus with Goldman Sachs, only 1.2% but better than nothing...

I have also only ever won £25 on the premium bonds 😆

How much do you have in premium bonds? I was lucky last year and got something back roughly every other month, but nothing this year yet. Given that interest rates are pretty rubbish and you can access your money very quickly in premium bonds, I like to stash some money away in them when I can. Although DH keeps telling me how rubbish they are.

I had around 10k I think at most and that’s when I won £25. Now I’ve less

@EasterIssland I only have a bit more than that. Think I was lucky last year, probably won't get anything for ages now! Don't think you'll get much return on your money at the moment, but maybe someone will know better than me!

savings returns have been below real inflation for years and are getting even worse. 1.2% is about the best you'll do unless you go for a long fix.

everything is really 'next to nothing'.

Likewise, i have savings thanks to covid. Ive put 1k into some random stocks on the stock market, like WIZZ AIR (we had a holiday once with them)

You need to open your own project if you want to earn real money. Because deposits often provide low income compared to an active business.
