Engagement Ring

Engagement rings seem to be one of the only things I've heard people in UK haggle for. Has anyone done it and how did you go about it? I recently got engaged during the Black Friday sale event so wasn't an issue but wondered what the general rule is. Thanks.

Never heard that, but did try and haggle in the US and was told no way they reduce solitaires as there’s no margin on them.

I don't believe this given that they lose their value the minute they're bought

Think that depends. I’m talking graded >1ct not the decorative size.

We got my ring made in platinium for the white gold ticket price. That must have been a hefty discount.

We got 1K taken off the price of my engagement ring because DH is a dentist and they were chatting about it....? Not sure why we got such a big discount but I'll take it!
