Tracking down old Shares

Hi I used to work at a supermarket called Safeway back in the day and I seem to remember having shares with them. Can anyone tell me how I could track these down. I don't actually have any paperwork unfortunately.

They were taken over by Morrisons in 2004. If you held shares then, you would have received a bit of cash and shares in Morrisons.
