I have inherited a reasonable sum of money. It is currently in an overseas account and I am unsure what to do.
At present I am renting in London and paying a huge amount of money in rent so there is the possibility of getting a mortgage. I am near retirement age and although I want to continue working for several years my age might be a problem when applying for a mortgage.
I need to get some financial advice but it seems none of the financial advisers seem to be entirely independent.
Also because the money is currently in an overseas account I am unsure about when to transfer it to my UK account. As the pound has gone through a downturn by indecisiveness has paid off.
I wonder is there anyone who can advice me on where to get really independent good advice on my situation?
