My son won £100 at an adult chess tournament, it is made out to him, he is only ten and does not require a bank account can I put it into my account?

No you won’t be able to, you’ll have to open an account for him. I’m surprised he doesn’t have one tbh.

I don't think so. Set him up an account, it's easy enough to do.

Kannet · 02/05/2018 13:18

No you can't. Should be a very quick thing to open an account for him

umizoomi · 02/05/2018 13:29

I too am surprised he doesn't have an account. Any high street bank or building society will offer a straightforward children's savings account

Yes tried to act dumb and they wouldn't accept it. So a bank account it is! Thanks

If he was born in the UK does he not have a child trust fund?

I’m amazed he’s got to 10 without a bank account!
