My first month and I didn't win either Sad

nannynick · 06/02/2017 22:51

Nothing so far this month, haven't checked so may get £25 if lucky.

Overall last year did ok, better return than my ISA did!

Only1scoop · 06/02/2017 22:53

25 In November
125 in December
Nothing last 2 months Sad

Ginorchoc · 07/02/2017 20:15

They've just lowered the £50 + prizes from May. Upped the £25 odds but rather they lost one of the top prizes and filtered that down.

I think it means average yield is now 1.25% which if you get that is still better than many instant access savings accounts. Do need to keep an eye on it though as you can go for months without getting anything.

nannynick · 08/02/2017 06:48

Nope it's 1.25% now, dropping to 1.15% which is 0.05% higher than some banks are offering on instant access savings. Hmm, time to move?

Merlin40 · 08/02/2017 06:58

I've had them for 24 years and never won! Don't have loads though

Madbengalmum · 02/03/2017 21:34

Only £25 this month!!
Suppose better than nothing,

overwhelmedbyitall · 17/03/2017 19:27

I won £25 last month. I have bonds bought in 1977 (present when I was born) and 2000 (first pay cheque) and 2010 (wedding) and this is my first prize ever!

nannynick · 17/03/2017 21:45

£75 this month. Think I will probably not put any more in but may keep my current holding as it is nice to think that you can win big.

Marmitelover55 · 02/04/2017 17:48

I got £25 in my second month. Fingers crossed for the April draw!

LonginesPrime · 06/04/2017 19:38

I agree with nannynick - the chance that I might win is worth it to me.

I've just decided to put my emergency savings into premium bonds as otherwise they're just sitting there earning a paltry interest rate anyway.

Crispsheets · 19/04/2017 21:31

I have £5000 in bonds...Had them since last July, and have won £25 Grin

lisalisa · 19/04/2017 21:37

I think they're a rubbish investment . My parents invested £200 in bonds for me in 1970 when £200 was a lot of money . I have won £50 twice and that's it and look now how they've devalued compared to what would have been realised over the years if put into an investment plan that would have grown

LonginesPrime · 22/04/2017 14:02

Lisa, they're not an investment really, though. They're just a savings vehicle.

nannynick · 22/04/2017 21:00

Nothing this month.

It's better than my investment account which is currently down against what the funds cost me. Ah well, investing is a long term thing, 5-10 years.

lisalisa · 22/04/2017 23:49

But they're not a savings vehicle either .?they depreciate and don't earn interest so it's a complete

lisalisa · 22/04/2017 23:50

Waste putting your money there

19lottie82 · 07/05/2017 21:50

I have10k I'm bonds since Feb and have won 2 x £25 so far Grin

starving · 07/05/2017 22:21

My brother has a premium bond that my grandfather purchased when he was born. He has never won a penny and my brother is 58! Some investment that was!

19lottie82 · 08/05/2017 08:53

Starving how much was it for?

Someone has said they had a £200 bond and didn't win anything which is statistically correct.

The odds of winning are 30,000 / £1 of bonds each month.

I have £10,000 and have won £25 twice in four months of ownership, so I'm doing well.
