After years of infertility, did anyone go on to have a baby?

EDIT
The title was supposed to read , "anyone after years of infertility, NOT go onto have a baby?"

It’s been a 4 year journey, with so many tests and different methods to try to fall pregnant, one failed ICSI, not one single BFP on a test strip.

I’ve been feeling very sad and in despair this week. I feel so, so angry that other people’s bodies have been able to produce a baby, yet I’ve had to suffer through this long, painful journey, and still am without knowing when it will come to an end.

Why is it so difficult? DH'S and my body is able to do all the other functions it’s designed to do, such as poo, pee, digest food, etc., but why not this? We must have tried what, 50+ cycles by now. How are the odds so strongly against us?

Sorry for the rant, and thank you for listening. Just feel like we're the only ones who have ended up with no children yet others we know who struggle have certainly ended up atleast a child. Feels so unfair

Hello 👋 I just thought I’d say, I’m in the same boat and on the brink of giving up. I want my life back and to not feel sad all the time any more. I’m sorry I don’t have anything positive to add :(

I hear you. DH and I also tell ourself lets shift our focus on other things in life, but then we're back to feeling how we do.

How long has the journey been for you so far?

@JS5 It’s easier said than done isn’t it? We aren’t far off 4 years so similar to you. We seem to still be ‘unexplained’ but I think that there must be a reason. Like you, seeing others come out of the other side is hard. I think the only way I can get some control back is to just put an end to it and move on. What stage are you at?

I’m so sorry @JS5. A failed IVF cycle is devastating but they do say to prepare for three tries. My friend is 20 weeks after her third transfer and it took her six years to get this far: however, she only started IVF 12 months ago so that was the shorter part of the journey. I also myself would have gotten nowhere TTC without endo surgery and IVF. We had only just started TTC when it became obvious other symptoms I had (wasted two years trying to get under control before TTC) were actually endo and a consultant told me it would be hard for me to conceive without surgery

It’s one of the worst processes I’ve been through. Look after yourself. Something like 50% of women going through IVF get depressed - make sure you make use of any counselling your clinic has available

And don’t underestimate the hormone crash after a IVF cycle. It makes what is objectively very upsetting so much worse. It took me a few months to feel back to myself and not have random meltdowns 🤦🏻‍♀️

Good luck xxx
