TW: chemical pregnancy
Hi everyone
I had a frozen embryo transfer last month and it sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy, we’re completely heartbroken and navigating this loss. 💔
Just wondering if anyone has any advice for when/if we have a second frozen embryo transfer. Was there anything that helped second time around?
Ive been taking the following vitamins already:

  • Folic Acid
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin B12
  • Iron
Does anyone reccomend a specific prenatal vitamin to take? I think I should swap to a proper prenatal not the separate vitamins I was taking

Also Did anyone have success using baby Aspirin? I want to speak to my dr about this at our follow up as because we’re doing reciprocal ivf it’s classed as me using “donor eggs” so they advised to take Aspirin and calcium from a positive pregnancy test but I’ve seen people use it earlier and have success

Sending love to everyone

In 2025 I had a chemical after my first round ( only 1 embryo) and went on to have a successful pregnancy with my second round of IVF. What I did differently - I took omega 3 and a vaginal probiotic. I cut out caffeine and soft drinks and alcohol completely. I stopped using skincare/make up that had high endocrine disruptors and I did Acupuncture to reduce stress. I have a pretty stressy job and was v stressed during my first round. Good luck with your next steps x

I’m so sorry about your chemical pregnancy 🫂

I saw a fertility coach who strongly recommended drinking beetroot juice. There’s a study that shows it significantly improves outcomes: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10712821/

Beetroot juice is the main active ingredient that helps with implantation. I couldn’t be bothered with the watermelon and ginger so just drank a glass of the juice daily

As a prenatal she recommended seeking health optimal prenatal - it has quite a few things in. Also omega 3. And folate rather than folic acid

It’s so galling but they do say to prepare for three attempts at a transfer. My friend is nearly 20 weeks after her third transfer. First didn’t work and the second was a chemical. She didn’t do PGT-A testing.

My protocol included baby aspirin and clexane due to PAI-1 which was picked up on a thrombophilia panel (which my clinic recommended due to endometriosis). I started both the clexane and aspirin the day after the embryo transfer

I did PGT-A testing too so ruled chromosomal issues out as a factor. Id had a miscarriage post endometriosis surgery and really wanted to do what I could do reduce the risk of a repeat. First transfer thank god has stuck so far (17+3)

I also did acupuncture too about an hour after the transfer. My clinic also was quite conservative and advised putting your feet up (not bed rest but stay in watching Netflix) for at least the first 24 hours which is the most important. I stayed in for about 3 days then started to go a bit stir crazy and went back to business as usual, but I didn’t workout during the TWW

Good luck and hope it’s next time that’s lucky for you xx
