Private BUPA, London based OBGYN recommendations for infertility investigations after late miscarriage

Can anyone recommend an OBGYN they’ve seen privately through BUPA to do investigations?

After two healthy pregnancies I unexpectedly suffered a second/late trimester miscarriage this summer. Whilst we have accepted the offer of an autopsy this will take a number of months and I’m conscious there may be areas the NHS don’t look into as part of this.

I’m very sorry for your loss

I saw Colin Davis who accepts BUPA. He’s quite unusual in that he founded an IVF clinic called Evewell, where he has part of his practice, but he also does a lot of complex gynae surgeries. Gynaes typically lean fertility or general and I think the fact he does both gives him an edge. He did my endometriosis surgery.

It can be a long ish wait to see him for a general gynae appt so I booked a fertility appt (I wanted to see him about bleeding and pain I was getting). My BUPA plan didn’t cover fertility treatment, but it paid for my endometriosis treatment because I was symptomatic (so all the scans, appts at the Evewell and the surgery). I then continued to see him for IVF after the surgery at the Evewell

He’s a technically brilliant doctor who also has a very kind manner. I’d see three gynaes over 4 years who had all missed endometriosis which was quite frustrating. I credit being pregnant now to him

Good luck xx

Thanks so much and congratulations @SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite - only the best for the rest of your pregnancy!

Fellow endo patient here, so good to know that side of it too. Massively appreciate the recommendation - thanks heaps.
