Anyone preparing for fertility treatment later this year and feeling impatient

Is anyone else in the position they're starting to get their ducks in a row for fertility treatment later this year? Just hoping to find some people to vent to about these early days when you want to get started already but it's not practical! Waiting for funding approval maybe, or like me have a few personal things to tick off the list before really going all steam ahead.

We're going for a sibling round, hopefully IUI again but I haven't had any of my repeat tests yet to confirm.

The waiting is the worst. My therapist told me it seems so unbearable because for evolutionary reasons our brains view anything getting in the way of us reproducing - including delay - as a survival threat. That really helped understand why it was so awful waiting, especially when you haven’t got a clear plan and dates locked in yet

I find op that the waiting around is the hardest part about ivf. Even in treatment there are always waiting for next steps. Once the ball gets rolling then the stims start reasonably quickly but the days get long if you have a few side effects and then it feels like your on stims forever before egg collection.

Yes agreed @Miraclemuma03, so much waiting! In some ways I know this is the calm bit I need to soak up before we get started but I'm just so impatient right now.

Interesting what you say @SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite about survival instinct. That would make sense. I found similar first time round that once we'd decided to try I needed it to be RIGHT NOW 😅

That's just it, not having dates locked in and a definite plan. It's all "I need these boxes ticked and that could be next week or months away"! So here I am on Mumsnet venting.
