For those who did back to back retrievals (ie. first at month 1, second at month 2, 3rd month 3 and so on), could you kindly share the variations you saw if any, specifically with:

  • With stimulation days
  • With medication dosages (any step ups, downs or change of protocol)
  • With mature eggs/blasts/embryo quality?
And when you share, could you also say how many consecutive cycles did you do before you paused/what was the pause effect for you? Thank you so very much and wish you all here all the luck and charm for those happy destination end eventually!

I did two egg retrievals back to back, so after the first one waited for the withdrawal bleed then went again immediately, that was quite quick so hardly any time between. My doctor would have let me do a 3rd consecutive cycle from a medical standpoint but recommended a break for my sanity!

It was in september and october 2024 so I can't remember all the details but:

Cycle 1 (300 ovaleap) - I want to say 10-12 days of stims, 8 eggs retrieved, 5 mature, 4 fertilised,.1 blastocyst (euploid after pgta testing)

Cycle 2 (450 menopur) I think 14 days of stims, 9 eggs retrieved, ICSI, all mature and fertilised, 7 blastocysts (5 euploid). I did a different brand of trigger shot but unsure which.

I do think my 2nd round was very lucky, but doing ICSI and the different meds probably played a part too

After the embryo batching I had a 2.montb break before attempting an embryo transfer, mainly because the clinic closed over Christmas but it was nice to relax and let my hair down a bit!
