Hi Everyone,

Just looking for a bit of reassurance. I had my egg collection yesterday and managed to retrieve 10 eggs, 9 were mature but only 5 fertilised. I’m just feeling so disappointed atm. I’m 32 with a good amh level so I was expecting a higher number. I know with ivf attrition rates I can only except less than half to make it to day 5.

It only takes one! We got 2 fertilised eggs. One is our lovely 3yold. Take care x

I had 10 fertilisated eggs and got 7 blasts from it (the second transfer being my 10 month old baby). So it's not always the drop off that people think. It's so variable. Really hope you have good news from it soon 😊

@Myra93 it really can vary so much. When I was 32 below were my date notes. I was very surprised as we were right on the borderline of requiring ICSI but managed to avoid it.

Collection 16th 6 eggs collected
17th 8am 5 fertilised
21st 1pm 5AA transferred, 4AA and 3BC frozen
22nd 3AB frozen
24th 3dp5dt 12pm red light spotting
7dp5dt first positive test

That fresh transfer is now my one year old daughter. Best of luck to you! X

5 fertilised is a good number! I'm 34, AMH 1.2, only 3 eggs retrieved, all fertilised, 2 embryos transferred and now pregnant with twins. At your age your eggs should be high quality which will give you a much better chance of success

Yes 5 fertilised (1 of these was abnormal though so ended up with 4). We had a Day 5 3Aa and a day 6 5Bb. Currently cuddling and feeding my 3Aa 19 week old with the 5Bb still frozen for later. Sending you 🍀

We did use ICSI just to cover all bases. I’m wondering if more of the other 5 would’ve made it if we didn’t use ICS
Thats such an amazing out come for you!

I only ended up with 1 fertilised and it was a successful pregnancy.
