42 and starting IVF treatment tomorrow - would love some company for the journey ☺️

Hi ladies, so, as the title reads, I start the injections tomorrow evening. I have an appointment with my clinic (Care) tomorrow morning for the baseline scan and to get the treatment plan. Meds have arrived so we are ready to go! My AMH is 8.3 with follicle count of 14.

I had my son via IVF 11 years ago and was very lucky that it worked first time and on the NHS. This time it's private and costing a fortune. This is the only shot we have at this so we are feeling the pressure for sure.

I fell pregnant last month naturally (first time ever due to PCOS) but that ended in a chemical at 5 weeks. We are opting for PGTA testing and keeping everything crossed for a euploid.

Is anyone else starting this journey?

This is excellent news @PearOpal! I have no idea what any of it means to be honest, I’ve just kind of handed my body over to the clinic and will do whatever they say… it’s actually quite nice that it’s in someone else’s hands now. I am on day 4 of stims (actually I don’t even know that, am I day 4 of I do my fourth injection tonight? Or day 3?), and I can’t keep my eyes open, and that’s despite getting a record 9 hours sleep last night. I am shattered

@PearOpal 10 is a good number! I feel like there is constantly something new to worry about, or to Google and look up. I wouldn't be sure of what that meant either to have an abnormally fertilised one! When do you get your next update?

@overwork yeah I'd be saying I'm on day 5 today even though injection number 5 is tonight!
Have my first scan tomorrow to see how I'm responding. Feeling a bit apprehensive but really interested to see what's going on in there

Ooh my first one is tomorrow too. There’s something going on in there, bit crampy and achey. But whether that is corresponding to my ovaries waking up who knows

@Sheffters thank you! How are you feeling? Obviously too early to really feel any symptoms I guess

@Magix86i'm ok. Yes, too early for symptoms but I think the programme mirrors the symptoms so you never really can tell.

I have been over thinking a lot today about the stats of success etc. No good comes of this! X

@Magix86 and @overwork good luck at your first scans! Looking forward to the update. Did you all also have AFC scans before this cycle or is this your first time checking since you started your IVF round? My next update is Thursday and then I should hear how many make it to blast.

@Sheffters i won’t even pretend like it’s not hard. For whatever it’s worth I think you’ve done a fantastic job staying focused and letting embaby do the work. Are you able to do anything to distract yourself a little?

@Sheffters I'm sorry about the overthinking! The stats are one thing but they are only numbers and remember they are not relating to you individually. Right now it's just between you and your little embryo! 💞

@PearOpal thank you! So I did have a scan initially for them to check we were good to go and inform our treatment plan. But that was 7 weeks ago! Ooh I'll be thinking of you on Thursday and hoping for a really good update

@PearOpalyes I had 9 follicles I think the day before I started. Ooh bet Thursday is feeling a long way away.
@Sheffterswhen I was trying naturally I read (on here), that if you are pregnant enough to have symptoms, you are pregnant enough to have a positive test, but I have no idea how that extrapolates to an IVF go!

Feeling OK atm! Just had my scan. 11 follicles on the left and 4 on the right! Start fyremadel tomorrow morning and another scan on Friday. The anxiety is starting to come back now haha. Hoping they continue to grow, but also hoping they don't grow too big and become overmature and we lose them 😬 the biggest already looks 13mm and the smallest is 7. So also hoping the smaller ones catch up!

Ooh great news @Magix86! We really are on the same timeline now, I start my second type of injections in the morning. She showed me a chart with the follicles on. 7 are very likely to respond and there’s another 10 tiny ones which may or may not wake up. For me it’s my right ovary which is doing all the donkey work! And I’ll also have another scan Friday.

@overwork great numbers! Well done. What stims are you on? I was a bit anxious asking for a slightly higher dose this time around but hopefully we've done the right thing. It's funny, I've compared today's scan to our last round and my ovaries have switched round - this time it's the left doing all the work and last time it was the right!

Menopur 450 (I’m overweight).
Theyre funny little things aren’t they, obviously taking it in turns to put the work in!

Day 9 of stims for me, had scan and follicles ranging from 3mm to 16mm so carrying on with meriofert and fyremadel until Friday and then get rescanned. They think there are around six which are looking like they may grow enough in size.

@Onesaddog that's quite a range of sizes! Really hoping the smaller ones catch up and you get good news on Friday 🤞🏻

I thought so too! One ovary is definitely pulling its weight more :)

Just had my scan, follicles growing nicely. I now have 13 on the right side and 6 on the left! I think I got right and left mixed up on my previous message. I'm continuing on the same dose of meds and another scan on Monday to hopefully trigger that night 🤞🏻

@Magix86 that’s amazing!! Did they give you any indication of how much longer they want you to stim?
I think we’re doing well so far 13 eggs, 13 mature, 11 fertilized and 11 embryos. So just waiting to see how many make it to Day 5 but I’ve read so many posts about how there’s a crazy drop off between day 3 and 5 so I’m nervous.

@Sheffters are you about at the point where the trigger is gone? How’re you holding up?
