Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading a lot on here for a while and finally decided to post because I remember how anxious I felt before my first IVF consultation, so I thought sharing my experience might help someone else in the same boat.
We recently had our first IVF consultation at Best Life Fertility Center in UAE after struggling to conceive for some time. I wasn’t sure what to expect at all before going in – I had this idea it might be very medical, rushed, or overwhelming, but it was actually quite the opposite in many ways.
The appointment started with a detailed discussion about our history – how long we had been trying, any previous tests, lifestyle factors, and general health. Both my partner and I were asked questions, and everything felt quite thorough but not intimidating.
After that, the doctor explained the possible causes and what investigations would be needed next. In our case, they suggested a few additional hormone tests and scans before deciding on a treatment plan. Nothing was rushed, which honestly made me feel a bit more in control of the process.
What I personally appreciated was that they explained each step in simple terms – what IVF involves, how the cycle works, and what the realistic timeline could look like. I went in feeling confused and came out with a much clearer picture of what the next few months could involve.
They also discussed options based on different scenarios, not just jumping straight into IVF, which I found reassuring because it didn’t feel like a “one path only” approach.
Emotionally, I think the biggest thing for me was just finally having a structured plan after months of uncertainty. Even though we still have tests and decisions ahead, it feels less overwhelming now.
I know every clinic and experience is different, but I just wanted to share this for anyone who is about to go for their first consultation and is feeling nervous like I was.
Has anyone else had a similar first appointment experience in Dubai or elsewhere? Would love to hear how it went for you and what helped you through the process.
