NMN to support fertility treatment - any experiences to share, good or bad?

I have struggled with fertility issues for years (I am 39, 40 in August) and am throwing everything at my last few rounds of IVF before throwing in the towel and accepting we will never have another child (mercifully, I conceived my DS naturally on the 24 month of trying; he is nearly 3).

The whole process has been devastating for me (I always imagined having a big family) but I cannot carry on the endless uncertainty and heartache of every scan being worse and worse news and want to focus on what I do have.

However, I have been reading a little bit about NMN - it seems that some people on here have used it with some success for IVF outcomes (I have low AmH). I would love to hear people’s experiences - good and bad. Did anyone speak to their clinic about it? What dose did you take and where did you buy it and what was the impact? I obviously don’t want to try something that might carry risk, but am willing to consider it if it might be helpful. Would love to hear from anyone with any insight.

Really curious to hear any thoughts on this.

I found some discussions on other threads about using it for general health and people feeling much more energetic etc so considering for general.

Hi @Hazzakay I don't have any results good or bad yet (similar position except sibling round as we have severe MFI!), but my clinic said no risks so worth trying if you want to.
Good luck!

Thanks @TheFanciestPants - that’s helpful to hear. I’ve ordered some - worth a shot. What dose are you taking? Sorry to hear you are in similar shoes. Fingers crossed for good news soon

Where / what brand did you both get?

TheFanciestPants · 21/05/2026 13:54

I got Viva nmn as it has good ratings and apparently has more nmn than other brands. I have a referral code if you want it? No worries if not! Think it is 500 mg a day.

Yes it is tough, sorry you both find yourselves here and wishing you all the best!

Another thing I think has actually helped this cycle is using Human Growth Hormone so maybe ask your clinic about that too? My AMH is low too and it does help some people (not everyone but my clinic said it is worth a try). All my 3 embryos this time got to good rated blast by day 5 which is better than I got 2.5 years ago with my son and last cycle. Anyway, obviously not a doctor but could be worth asking about?

Thanks @TheFanciestPants - have also been reading about human growth hormone. Will definitely ask my clinic. Great that it might have helped you last round. Fingers crossed for implantation.

@HM2024 I went for Youth & Earth in the end. Did quite a bit of reading / research and it seems reputable with third party testing and providing a certificate of analysis etc. Have started on 250mg today. Time will tell I suppose!

Thanks both!

I emailed a private clinic I had a referral with and they came back to say along the lines of - though some studies have shown benefits on animal eggs, this has not yet been confirmed in human studies. Safety wise, taking it for a few months should be ok but should not take if you become pregnancy. Some clinics advise a few months in advance of IVF but no strong evidence to confirm it improves outcomes.

Ive gone back to ask for recommendation for dose to take per day.

@TheFanciestPants Could you please share your discount code in case they say 500mg?

Worst case scenario, hopefully I take for a few months and notice I have more energy!?

@Hazzakay @TheFanciestPants
Doctor came back to say 500mg. 'Suitable for a short course if you would like to try that'
