Bleeding and cramps at 6 weeks with heartbeat, any positive outcomes?

Am 6+2 and felt awful cramping for 2 hours and had blood this morning and clots this afternoon. Despite this, scan this afternoon showed heartbeat and fetal pole but later check at hospital told me not to be optimistic because cervix slightly open.

I am completely gutted. Clutching at straws, has anyone’s pregnancy survived this before?

I am really sorry you are experiencing this. I have had my share of similar experiences and unfortunately they didn't end up well. However, when I was successfully pregnant, I also bled the entire time pretty much on and off. Sometimes gushing blood, sometimes spotting. There's no way to tell which way it'll go tbh.... But all this is very traumatic and stressful. Fingers crossed for you <3 How are you feeling this morning?

Thank you for your kind message and reassurance re bleeding @contentsmayb i feel back to normal today which is weird. I’ve not bled or cramped now since Tuesday when it all happened so I don’t know what I should be expecting to happen with this “inevitable miscarriage”. It’s so weird.

I feel very pregnant still but I am trying not to get my hopes up before the follow up hospital scan tomorrow. Seems impossible based on what the dr said that all would still be fine but I can’t fathom why nothing has happened yet? Googling seems to suggest I should be continuously bleeding as my body expels the pregnancy. Obviously I’ve done way too much googling!

thanks again for asking after me x

Hope the scan brings positive news x

Thanks again ladies @contentsmayb @HappyMamma2023 for your support. I’m thrilled to say that all is well and the baby is measuring perfectly, with a good heartbeat.

The sonographer said my cervix looks closed and both she and the nurse I saw after the scan were baffled by the gynae’s assessment on Tuesday.

So relieved and happy, thanks again for helping keep me sane through this! Xx
