Would you fly abroad at 12 weeks during an IVF pregnancy?

Hello I have a dilemma. We've been invited to a foreign wedding later this year. We are due to start IVF soon for a sibling round and, if successful, I'd be around 12 weeks. I'm unsure if I want/it'd be safe to fly. Our first cycle I was admitted to hospital at 11.5 weeks with a burst ovarian cyst which was extremely painful and quite traumatic, thankfully the baby was OK and he's a healthy 3yold now. Asking for advice if anyone has flown at similar time? I understand flying pregnant is commin but with it being an IVF pregnancy and past medical history I'm worried. Thank you

I would personally stay at home—sometimes flights get rescheduled, you may have to wait, and if something happens, I wouldn’t feel comfortable going to a hospital I don’t know. But some women do choose to fly. It’s probably more about personality and comfort level, I’m just not that brave.

I flew abroad at 8 weeks and 12 weeks pregnant (ivf pregnancy) and felt totally safe to fly, I don't think there's any risk in travelling in itself. You might not feel the best if you're 1st trimester but I've read plenty to suggest there's no inherent safety issue, especiallyfor shoet haul flights (can't comment regarding your previous history though!)

If you'd rather not be away from home/your hospital that's fair enough, although unless you were somewhere very remote you'd be able to get medical care if needed and hopefully it won't arise. I'd go personally.

I flew abroad at 12 and 20 weeks with an ivf pregnancy. I felt perfectly safe and had a wonderful time.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I will discuss this with the clinic and also ask what the chances are of having another burst ovarian cyst.
