x5 positive Easy-at-home but definite Negative FRER?

Hi all,

I am 7 days post 5-day frozen embryo transfer. This is my first frozen transfer, after a successful fresh transfer 2 years ago.

I started testing at 4dpt this week using easy-at-home strips. Initially I tested negative (which I expected as it was very early), then on 5dpt I tested faint positive x3 times (morning, afternoon, and evening) on easy at home strips (see image attached).

Yesterday, 6dpt I continued to test positive on the strips. I took a Clearblue but wasn’t convinced, but again, I put it down to it not being an overly sensitive test and still being early (see image - potential line eyes?).

Today, 7dpt, I tested positive again on Easy at home but a stark negative on FRER using the same urine sample. I had to order FRER on Amazon as they’re not sold where I live but I have read that they are the most sensitive.

I am equal parts devastated as I am confused. Can anyone make any sense as to why I would be having continuous positives on the strips yet nothing on the extra sensitive FRER?

This is my last embryo so I’m holding out hope but I also don’t want false hope, so any realistic experiences/opinions welcomed.

thank you 🙏🏻🤞🏻

It would be an absolutely cruel joke if those easy at home were false positives, i myself have never trusted the cheaper brands, there are always complaints of lines showing up even when your not pregnant. The clearblue looks like a evap sorry. I would say test again with a frer in a couple of days, you should have a clearer answer by then.

I've been through boxes of Easy@home tests and never had a false positive. I think on the whole false negatives are more common than false positives and you've multiple positives so every reason to stay hopeful. Maybe the FRER has been stored incorrectly. Good luck x

I just tested positive on CB digital, CB non-digital, and x2 more strips - so FRER was seemingly wrong! 🙌🏻

Congratulations! Are you taking any vitamins with a high dose of biotin by any chance? It’s known to cause false positives in FRERs.

Thank you 😍

Yes, I read that that could be an explanation. I’m taking Proceive which contains Biotin, mad that that wouldn’t be flagged as a risk for negative tests considering so many pregnant women take it and probably use that test!

I think the best thing to do is get blood work done, confirm and track.
