6 weeks pregnant BETA 663 no sign of pregnancy on scan 😔

I’ve been going through IVF for the last four years and after our 5th transfer i finally got my BFP ! Clinic did a BETA at 13dp5dt and it came back at 16 - then doubled in 48 hours . Went for a scan at 5 weeks 5 days and no sign of pregnancy - the fertility clinic sent me to my local EPU. Another scan at 6 weeks and again nothing on the scan and my BETA has come back at 667 - which my clinic have advised is really low for six weeks

The EPU have told me to come back in 10 days but my brown spotting has now turned pink and red . I just can’t believe i’m being left - feel so upset and frustrated . Has anybody had anything similar happen prior to IVF

Unfortunately, yes. First ever BFP last cycle, ended in missed miscarriage. Found out at 10 weeks 😞

I’m so sorry this happened to you . You really think once you get your BFP that’s it x

You just think it’s finally your time. I had to have a medicated miscarriage - it was most traumatising thing I’ve ever had to do.

Currently 5dp5dt with a FET 4BB following that miscarriage and testing negative so think this cycle has failed too.

I'm so sorry you're in this position. I've had a few miscarriages after FETs and they are so traumatic.

In your position, I would be pretty annoyed at the clinic. Regardless of whether it doubles, HCG of 16 on 13dp5dt does not lead to viable pregnancies. Your clinic should have made them a clear - it's horrible that they've let you feel hopeful. The EPU is also not treating you right here - nothing on a scan at 6 weeks pregnant is diagnostic of a failed pregnancy with IVF. The 10 days waiting makes sense for traditional conception because dates could be wrong. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry you've been left like this.

Thank you for your reply and i’m so sorry you’ve experienced miscarriages i’ve never felt as upset as i do at the moment , it’s such an awful feeling .

The doctor from the EPU called me back last night and said your numbers are more than doubling so this is a positive sign and could be a viable pregnancy . I said do you realise i’m six weeks pregnant , not even a sac on the scan and my beta is not even 700 ! then he back tracked said it could go either way and agreed to scan me this Thursday.

I just can’t understand why they’re dragging out the inevitable and giving me false hope . Like i said to him on the phone my dates are spot on i can tell you the time the embryo was put back in . After speaking to my clinic yesterday the NHS have a a policy to follow in regards to times between scans and the EPU units as you said follow the traditional conception timelines not IVF.

I hope we get some answers on Thursday and we can start the ball rolling so i can heal and get ready for my next transfer x

Im so very sorry. You should not have been told to go to that first scan in the first place. You hcg levels have to be well over 1500 to see any sort of something on a scan. What should be occurring is just tracking hcg levels and once they reach over the threshold then go for a scan if not the hcg will stop and start dropping. I would repeat bloods.

I think it was a positioning scan to make sure the pregnancy wasn’t eptoptic - but with a hgc level like mine nothing would been seen . I was just under 700 on Friday and haven been doubling and more so Thursday something should be able to be located . The thing is i know this isn’t viable i’m just wanting this to get sorted out now . I’ve been spotting for a week now but it’s now turned red but still very light . i’ll be seven weeks on Thursday - i’m just praying it’s not a eptopic
