How many cycles of letrozole before moving on?

Did anyone try letrozole before moving onto ivf, if so how long for?

We’re with an nhs clinic and done a few cycles to get good enough progesterone, and they’ve said to try a good 6 months, but this feels like forever if it’s not working? I know it might just take a few goes even if no issue now, but I can’t help but worry what if it’s not the only issue, considering we’ve been TTC 20 cycles now

I’m at a private clinic but on my 6th and final cycle of letrozole, the clinic told me at the start they would only do 6 months as slightly increased risk of cancer if longer. I’ve had no BFPs but the months have gone very quickly in some ways. I booked my first IVF appointment when I got to month 4 so I can start as soon as possible after this cycle inevitably ends. Feel a little more in control being private I guess as I have had thoughts along the way of bringing it forward but sticking to original plan. Good luck!

Private clinic. We did letrozole and gonal f, but in a medicated IUI cycles (so more control). We did 4 rounds before moving on to IVF (our choice, but clinic agreed). Success rates for medicated IUI with donor sperm drop off after 4-6 cycles
