My first IVF cycle, the clinic gave me a prescription for progesterone (norethisterone), but send me the sharps and stimulation meds via a courier. They also sent some progesterone pessaries intended for embryo transfer, but I never got that far. I then did a second cycle, and when I got my PGT-A results back my doctor at the clinic rang and said she'd send me a list of the medications I'd need. When I got it I saw that one of them was the same pessary, which they'd already sent my courier with my stims in a previous cycle.
I assumed this meant the medications would turn up via courier, and they'd be in touch. Both because time was ticking and because I didn't want them to re-send the pessaries, I rang the clinic, who said no, you need to get them yourself from a pharmacy. Went to the pharmacy, who said no, most of these things aren't standard stock and we can't get them. The pharmacist was pretty clear this would be the case in most pharmacies. So I rang the clinic back and they said they'd send by courier but they'd charge £60 for it. I wasn't so bothered about the money, as that it just felt really chaotic and disorganised?
I wondered what the norm was! (The other meds were lubion and estradiol, and the right size needles - the pharmacist couldn't get the lubion or the needles.)
Thanks!
