Extreme bloating, abdominal pain which radiates round the middle of my back - Fyremadel (IVF)

Hi all,
It's my first time posting on here and I'd be grateful if anyone could share their experience or if anyone can relate. It's my first IVF cycle and I took my trigger shot last night for egg collection tomorrow. Since I started Fyremadel 7 days ago, I've been getting really bad bloating (I could literally burst) with abdominal pain right in the middle just below my chest that radiates round to my middle back. It seems to be getting worse as each day goes by. I wondered whether its OHSS, but I seem to be urinating fine and there is no bleeding - unless you don't necessarily have to have those symptoms to be going through OHSS?! At this point I'm just exhausted, I am barely able to sleep from the pain and I would just love to know if anyone else has experienced this before and what tips you might have to relieve these awful abdominal cramps! After last night, no more injections so i'm praying these symptoms will subside. Thanks so much !

Do you have a lot of follicles?

OHSS usually happens after egg retrieval as a result of fluid filling the aspirated follicles and blood vessels becoming more permeable, resulting in fluid leaking into your abdominal cavity, not before. Mention to your clinicians but it's likely just from the stimulation drugs/ expanded ovaries. Bloating is very common.

Thank you for the reply. I have 7 follicles currently for egg collection tomorrow. I didnt realise OHSS only happens after retreival which is good to know. The symptoms are just unbeatable, the consultant did say its common side effects of fyremadel but not sure how much longer I can take of these cramps and back pain. Thank so much, will see what they say tomorrow. 🙏🏼

Hope everything went okay with your cycle 💖

I just wondered if you had any Fyremadel left over - I am missing my final dose and the clinic is shut this weekend, I am panicking!
