Chances are slim at age 41 but trying to be positive

I’ve been on Overleap for a week. Scan yesterday showed 7 follicles. 6 at nearly 10mm and 1 at 11mm. Got another scan next week which will hopefully result in trigger injection for egg collection.
I’m only getting one round due to my age (41). Trying to not worry about things but it’s difficult to not feel anxious. Keep telling myself it only takes one good egg!

One week after transfer and I’m bleeding. Cramping started yesterday evening and continued through the night. Bleeding is pretty much like day one of my period (my periods are quite light but this is definitely more than spotting.) I’ve left a message with the clinic but I’m pretty sure this is the end for us.

So sorry to hear that ❤️Is there any chance you can afford a 2nd round? It took me 2 egg collections to get my only child at 40 - I suspect simply because my eggs were older (and so probably more difficult to make an euploid embryo). I’m not sure if it was the med changes as they often tweak them for the 2nd cycle, or that I tried NAC and ALA supplements that meant I finally got there (I’d also had multiple failed IUI’s too).

If it helps, just like you I only got 5 eggs each cycle -but my clinic only cultured them to Day 3 and then put them back in me or froze them (as they said with only a few embryos it wasn’t worth pushing them to blastocyst stage and they would be better off in me). It still took me 3 transfers to get my DS though and I only got a chemical pregnancy when trying for a sibling with my final FET. IVF is such a tough road to go down

This is awful, im sorry to read that you possibly got your period early on in the 2ww. What happens for you from here? Did your clinic get back to you? How absolutely devastating..

@Alexandrine We decided from the beginning to only do the funded round. I can’t do it again. I don’t want to have it constantly hanging over me for months on end. We’ll be fine (eventually).

@Miraclemuma03 Clinic said to keep with gels and still do pregnancy test next week as that’s the only way to know for certain. The nurse said she’s had some women bleed heavily and still be pregnant. But I just know… no way can that come out of me and I be pregnant.

Just wanted to give a little bit of hope. This time I had cramps at night, heavy bleeding and passed a huge clot, I thought it was part of my uterus! I was 5w, devastated, wanted just to stop taking medication, but clinic told me to increase progesterone and continue till dr can scan me (they refused to scan me then).. for 1.5w I was sure it’s gone, symptoms kind of were mild, after many mc it was clear no chance. I and my dr were shocked when I came for a scan and baby was strong and all good. She said I probably passed accumulated blood.. I was traumatised and still in disbelief, I am 9w now.

You should definitely plan an amazing holiday @Stayingpositive2025! And it's a healthy mindset to know what you can and cannot do and to know as well that you will be fine one way or another, that's so important to remember. And you will be fine! ❤️ I will keep hoping that this bleed doesn't mean the end of course!

I don’t want to get my hopes up. I’ve felt so low these past few days that I don’t want to kid myself that there’s a chance and go through it all again.

Test was negative this morning. I knew it would be. Still have a heavy heart now it’s confirmed.We’re not doing another round.
