Success stories of 2nd thawing of embryo for PGT-a testing?

Hi

We had 3 embryos that were already frozen - thawed and refrozen so we could do PGT-a testing .. just wondering the success rates of these surviving the thaw again for FET transfer as this will be a 2nd thawing process .. anyone any success stories of having this happen and resulting in pregnancy ? Thank

Not personally, but I think it's a pretty high rate of them surviving the thaw and biopsy (emma the Embryologist has done some posts about this which you might find helpful!)

I am in a very similar position OP.

I had three frozen embryos that I had PGT-a on. All survived the thaw and were refrozen. This week the lab called with the results. One euploid, one aneuploid and one inconclusive. I agreed to have the third one thawed and biopsied again. It survived and has now been refrozen for the third time.

Now I have to wait about 2 weeks for the results. I'm very hopeful that my good embryo will survive again for the FET, either in September or October. I will come back and update the thread x

@Piapea this actually happened to one of ours also with an unconscious result, that one came back as eupolid so we were glad to re test, we are also probably going to have FET in sept .. I just hope they survive the 2nd thaw! Best of luck to you and please keep me updated .. hopefully we both have some success 🤞🏽

I'm having the FET tomorrow so they're thawing the embryo in the morning. I'll update you tomorrow evening :)

Hi @hopefullsosbry , the rethaw was successful today and the transfer went well! Now for the TWW!
The second embryo that we had retested came back as euploid so at least we have back up if this one doesn't make it :)

@Piapea thats amazing news ! So happy to hear all went well .. and now the dreaded TWW. Exciting though !! We have our FET next week so I shall keep you updated also. There is a thread for October IVF you can join, might help with support etc on your TWW, I will join after I get the transfer in, if I am lucky enough that the thaw all goes well ✨🤞🏽
