I’m 38 turning 39 in July and did my first FET in November. Had my 20 week scan on Thursday when we found out we are having a girl.

if you haven’t already I strongly recommend joining a group for your month/months of going through the process. I’m sure there’ll be one out there and it means you can talk to people going through it in real time or who may have done it before. I think quite a few people who are successful migrate over to the Pregnancy board.

Good luck with it all. To be honest, I really didn’t find it physically bad at all, mentally it was tough at times but if you’ve got a good support system particularly on here, it does help a great deal.

@worldwidetravel2017 I'm 38 and doing IVF. I haven't had a successful FET yet but have banked pgta tested embryos from 2 rounds of egg collections. I did find it a bit tough physically but not as much as expected, bur emotionally its hard going so do get support from friends, family and others here going through it!

I had ohss. I wasn’t identified as being at risk of it despite having an AMH of 38. They couldn’t see my right ovary during stims scans but it turned out they were both popping off and they collected 39 eggs which ended up as 14 embryos in the freezer. Well now it’s 13 because I’m currently cooking one of them! I think I just had quite a mild case though as I felt completely fine after EC and even went for a walk the next day. In the days after I felt a little nauseous and was sick once. I had to go into the hospital to be checked over and then go back 2 days later to be monitored again. I really didn’t feel that bad and they were just being super cautious. The main thing for me was because I hadn’t been flagged as at risk I’d been expecting to do a fresh transfer but they obviously couldn’t do this. Not sure what your plans are but if you are at risk it might be worth getting your head around a frozen transfer ahead of time. I would have found this helpful as I just hadn’t even considered it and so was a little disappointed when I couldn’t do fresh.
