Would you class this as day 1 of period?

Hello!
I posted this on the conception section but it’s definitely better off on this board.

I’m after so opinions please- about to start out first round of IVF and I believe my period has started today but I’m not sure whether to class it as day 1 as the nurse told me it has to be fresh red blood.

The nurse did say that I could get it right before bed and it would still class as day 1 but my question is would you deem this as fresh enough (please see pictures below- I apologise for the TMI!)

I’ve been on Northistrone for the past month and have been spotting with it for the last week or so. I stopped those tablets on Wednesday (3 days ago) and started bleeding properly today. I’ve filled a pad and when I wipe I see blood. Sometimes it’s red mixed with brown and other times it’s just brown.

what do you guys think? Is this my day 1? I probably will give the out of hours number a call tomorrow too but any help would be greatly appreciated, just want to get this right for my stim injections.

Day 1 is full flow not the pre spotting before a period becomes full flow..

I can’t see any pictures, but as PP said, I was always instructed that day 1 was full flow starting before 1pm.

Thank you for your response- that’s the issue it’s been enough for me to wear several pads throughout the day and I struggle with my periods. Some periods I only have dark red and brown blood rather than fresh red blood. Unfortunately the pictures have not been approved and are still getting reviewed to help show what I mean.

Hello, thank you for your response. The pictures are unfortunately still not approved by the reviewers. My IVF nurse said I could still class it as day 1 even if it was right before bed when I get that first proper fresh blood. It’s just I’ve had a mixture- some of it is definitely red blood but the majority of the day has been dark/brown blood which is what I struggle with, with my periods. Some periods I don’t have any fresh blood.

If your filling a pad then I'd say yes it's day 1.
