Ttc naturally with unexplained infertility

Hello 🙋‍♀️ I couldnt find a thread for those ttc naturally on the infertility section, thought it would be nice to chat to others in a similar boat. 🙂

We have been ttc for more than 2 years now, with 2 mmc at the start of this time, and nothing since.

Tests have been normal for us both...not sure what/if there are going to be any next steps as it isn't our first child and we wouldn't be paying privately for anything but am waiting for an hsg appointment.

@Muddysocks1 What dpo would you test on normally? That's good you felt better from the appointment. Yes exactly a bfp being only the first stage is a really sad view but unfortunately after loss and have difficulty concieving, it kind of changes your view doesn't it.

Sorry if you have already said, how long have you been trying? Hopefully both of us aren't waiting too much longer

@CharlotteRae Hi, I am still trying. Sorry you are still waiting too. Have you been for testing or anything?

After telling myself not until 9/10dpo, I tested today! Silly really but it almost becomes an obsession.
Are you at the start of a new cycle now?

I think this is cycle 14 now. Officially infertility territory now it’s over a year which i think has started to worry me more. What about you?

Ladyinpink1 · 03/06/2025 22:38

Not silly at all, we all do it. I both early tested this cycle, and hoaked a test out of the bin to make sure it definitely negative 🙈. Sorry you have waited so long too, once it passes that year mark, it really becomes harder doesn't it.

We started ttc in late 2022, fell preg twice quite quickly, both were mmc. The last one happened in August 2023 and nothing since so it is almost 2 years ttc since that. It's so strange.

I have been eating lots of good foods the past months to try to give things the best shot and I am staying hopeful for next few cycles because of the hsg. 🙂

@Ladyinpink1yeah my partner has been tested, he’s all fine, so I am definitely the problem. They think I have PCOS, on a low dose of metformin which is all I could handle but thankfully my bloods were all fine and egg count good. I’m due on my period today/tomorrow so I have to call them on day 1 to organise having my tubes checked this cycle. Initially I was hoping that may be the cause and they could sort but they have since explained that if they are blocked there’s nothing they can do to unblock and it would be a case of IVF which I’m not sure we want to do. We DTD a ridiculous amount last cycle so if I come on today il be gutted it was for nothing 😂

I’m sorry about your miscarriages and that you’ve not had any luck since. It’s so bloody hard! I have to say I’ve found it quite triggering recently when friends (or tbh even on other MN threads) have been talking similarly and then it turns out it’s only been a few months (which is totally in the normal range), not that it’s not legit for them to also be struggling but it makes me feel even more behind and the reality of whether it’ll happen for me.

DH got semen results back and mostly looks like but slightly low morphology. Has to have a retest. From what I can read online, most the supplements improve the other aspects like concentration and motility, not morphology. He’s already got a pretty healthy lifestyle so not really sure what else can be done. High count though so my understanding is that sort of balances out low morphology as there’s a lot of them generally 🙈

I’ve just finished the ureaplasma antibiotics and been taking progesterone since 3dpo, so it’s giving me some hope that it could happen, but I think then I’ll be even more gutted if it doesn’t

Mummysparrow · 04/06/2025 08:16

Here we go again Currently 1dpo and my body has decided to do the same as last cycle and give lovely symptoms from the beginning. Already started heaving cleaning my teeth and was having in the car to drop my DD off at childminders. Its odd because I don't have PMS symptoms normally and I don't get pregnancy symptoms this early usually either 😑
I turned 36 at the weekend and I hate the ticking clock hanging over me

Ladyinpink1 · 04/06/2025 21:47

@CharlotteRae That's good your dh results are good as well but sorry about the other complications. Hoping all your hard work pays off soon!

Is it your tubes flushed to check for your blockages that you are ringing for...Like an hsg or hycosy?
My dh tests were good so something on my end must be stopping it... which feels a bit rubbish, I really don't know what though as my tests are all good too and i had an hsg to check my tubes this cycle, also all clear.

@Muddysocks1 Thank you, I'm sorry for your hard time too. Yes I find it tough too, every thread I have been on the past few years, almost everyone else has gotten their bfp and I am still here trying, I find it crazy some of them have 1 year olds now.
That's great he has lots of sperm 👍. I love trying something new in a cycle, it makes you feel more positive and hopeful . Hoping you get good news soon. How many dpo are you?

@Mummysparrow sorry you have symptoms again. It's so frustrating at 1dpo because all you can really do is wait and see, what we need is a test that tells you at 1dpo if you concieved or not, no more tww ☺️

That is amazing news! How are you feeling?

@Ladyinpink1 yeah it’s hard seeing people progress much faster and your still waiting. I’m 8dpo today and tested but BFN but I know it’s still early

CharlotteRae · 05/06/2025 16:32

@Muddysocks1not too bad, TMI but had a few days being really constipated 😂 and then just headaches. Today have felt a few little niggles here and there but nothing much. I had a positive last July but had spotting and ended in chemical so next few weeks are going to be crucial x

Ladyinpink1 · 05/06/2025 17:05

Brilliant news for you @CharlotteRae How many dpo are you now? Your hard work paid off ☺️

@Muddysocks1 Sorry to hear that, it's so hard to see a bfn isnt it. 💛

@Ladyinpink1oh gosh like 14 DPO I think, I was due on yesterday, after 2 years I got fed up of testing early in the end, too much disappointment! I have PCOS and have been on a low dose of metformin for a few months too so wonder if that has helped

Mummysparrow · 06/06/2025 08:19

@CharlotteRae gentle congratulations

I am 3dpo. this cycle and last cycle I have been getting nauseous as soon as 1dpo rolls around and I have no idea why😭 never normally get this after ovulation so I am confused as to what has caused it

Muddysocks1 · 06/06/2025 17:52

By some miracle I think I’ve got a second line on a test. It’s just about visible but pretty certain it’s there. Feel some excitement but also apprehension - will it be there tomorrow and what will happen etc

CharlotteRae · 06/06/2025 18:15

@Muddysocks1just realised you weren’t the poster that said they are 3DPO! How many days past ovulation are you?? That’s so exciting

CharlotteRae · 06/06/2025 18:17

@Mummysparrowahh I always had nausea around ovulation and a head ache too, the things these hormones do to us!

9dpo - last time when I had the chemical I didn’t see anything until the afternoon of 10dpo. Eek! Will have to see if any progress tomorrow 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Muddysocks1 · 08/06/2025 20:28

Just to update I’m certain I’ve had a v brief chemical. A few days of VVVVFL but definitely there so I believe there’s been hcg present but not progressed. Sad it didn’t even turn into a “proper” positive. Also assume I should keep taking progesterone until the test date advised by doctor before stopping (15dpo, I’m 11dpo now), although will delay period longer!

Mummysparrow · 12/06/2025 19:33

@Muddysocks1 how are you? Did the line ever progress?

I am 9dpo and on holiday so not sure whether to test with the one test I have on me or whether to just wait and see

Sadly didn’t progress so think was another chemical. Fertility referral is in now and been accepted so feel a bit more hopeful that something might come from that.

if be tempted to test but then might leave you wondering if you get a faint line and can’t test again yet?

Mummysparrow · 12/06/2025 20:28

@Muddysocks1 sorry to hear that.
I have had my appointment with the GP to get the fertility clinic referral in and hubby sees the GP in 2 weeks. They said to me they will refer him for semen analysis to be done before the referral but we actually had a semen analysis a month ago at the same clinic so hoping we can skip that step and provide the report we have. I am not sure what they can offer though since my tubes have already been checked for a blockage.
That's the thing I could test tomorrow but its the only test I have on me. Though saying this I have had positive tests on 10dpo before so I should know tomorrow if I am pregnant or not. But I suppose will I feel upset whilst on holiday if I see a negative test again

Ladyinpink1 · 12/06/2025 21:21

@Muddysocks1 I'm really sorry to read about the chemical, it's awful to get your hopes up for any amount of time. How are you now? x

Hopefully they can use existing semen analysis 🤞🏻 my gp referred us before his semen analysis was done (but it had been requested). She had also accepted some of my private tests to use. But it does seem to vary by gp!

Thank you, I was gutted and really down for a few days, but feeling better now. Trying to be optimistic and hoping it could still happen but actually feeling fine about potentially needing more help to conceive eg. IVF. A small worry in my mind “what if nothing works” but trying to switch that off!
how are you getting on?
