My tips and how I got pregnant after 4 years

Hi

Myself and DH tried for 4 years unsuccessfully until I got pregnant with my twins in 2023.
Age wasn’t the issue as I was 24 when we first started trying. DH had average sperm count/ motility, I had lean pcos but all my bloods were normal and my scans all seemed fine.
We tried ovulation tracking/ the fertility monitor/ clomid/ letrozole/ I had a hycosy.
Nothing worked and safe to say we were distraught. I did IVF with create which didn’t work (1 fresh transfer failed). I then even went abroad to Spain and did 2 fresh cycles there which failed.
No one could give me answers. I then did a cycle at Coventry, and I decided to have an endometrial scratch for the first time and take clexane injections (didn’t need them but Cov thought to try). I also took 10mg prednisolone as I had my natural killer cells measured which appeared slightly high.
I had an FET and this resulted in my twins being born. We finally became parents!
I thought I’d share what we finally did and if anyone needs any support please let me know.

I know how alone and awful I felt in those times.

That's amazing that a protocol was found to be useful and worked for you. Congratulations on your twins. What great success.

@DonutEnvy Thank you for sharing your success story. We have had multiple miscarriages (10) and are about to start our 6th IVF round. Have been sent our protocol but another doctor has suggested taking 25mg of Prednisolone. I have previously had 5mg on one of the cycles although still ended in miscarriage. I am sceptical of taking a higher dose due to the risks and side effects. I have been tested for the NK cells (on the NHS and privately and both have come back negative). Do I go with the dose?
many thanks

Hi,
so sorry about this journey, I know how upsetting each unsuccessful stage can be! Even with my 4 failed transfers it was debilitating each time.
I had previously never tried prednisolone, and I made a mistake it was actually 15mg not 10mg I was on.
I took it a few days before transfer and then lowered the dose after transfer and took it for a few weeks after too (when it was successful).
my NK cells were slightly raised (I think only 2%) over the limit but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to push for it anyway as nothing else worked.
have you tried the endometrial scratch? I think that and the prednisolone is what worked for me.
I would think if the 5mg still resulted in a miscarriage, and I assume they’ve checked your progesterone and your blood (if you need clexane) then it wouldn’t hurt to try the 25mg as it might be the push you need
