6dp5dt - too soon to get my hopes up??

Hi,
Ive rejoined again after 4 yrs and had a new FET last week (prev various FETs/ivf rounds resulting in mmc,cps and my lovely daughter 🩷).
I’m 6dp5dt and have been testing out the trigger. I’m a serial tester and I’ve realised there’s no point fighting it 🤪🤪🤪.
Line started getting darker yesterday and darker again today. I know it’s still early (this is not my first rodeo!) but what do you think?? 🫣. For my first FREF today too.
I’m 41 but these embryos are from my 37yr old self. I know it could easily still be a CP, or indeed MMC (knowing my luck), but feeling a little hopeful today x

Looks like a positive test to me! x My test (also 6 days after and the same kind of pink test) was very similar and I am 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant as today :)

Evi83 · 03/03/2025 11:40

Thank you and congrats to you, that's lovely :)
Just not sure how I will cope with waiting until OTD (sat), and then if that happens, the early 6/7 week scan. Waaah!

Your lines are looking great, congratulations!

Zypig · 03/03/2025 14:53

I think those are decent lines, congrats! I’ve attached mine that were all first day urine from 4dp5dt - 9dp5dt for comparison, if anything yours are a little stronger. I’m 33 weeks now with those little lines, after years of trying and lots of failures.

Good luck!

@Zypig oh congratulations, that’s lovely! Hope you’ve had a good pregnancy so far.
thanks for sharing your pic, hope mine progresses as nicely from here!

@GreenLemonade ah thank you, doesn’t feel real yet. Fingers crossed for the next few days / weeks / months 🙏

How did you go with beta results? Hopefully everything came back positive and with good numbers

Evi83 · 09/03/2025 19:22

@Miraclemuma03 Hi! Thanks for reaching out. My clinic doesn’t do beta tests. I took another HPT on OTD (which was 8th) and still very positive. I’ve also done the CB weeks indicator tests, and they’ve gone from 1-2 to 2-3 so hopefully that’s a good sign. I’ll call clinic on Monday for a scan date! Doesn’t feel real. I’m waiting for something to happen. Not sure how on earth I’m going to make it another 2/3 weeks until the scan 🫣🤪
xx
p.s. I dread to think how much money I’ve spent on FRER, clear blue and Amazon over the last week !

That's great you still have a positive, that's a good sign. I find that weird your clinic doesn't do beta tests. Our clinic here does 1 on day 10 to 11 if it's a fet or day 14 to 15 on a fresh cycle then another 1 week later to keep tracking.

Evi83 · 10/03/2025 07:26

@Miraclemuma03 Yes I would have liked beta tests, but I think it’s more standard in the us than uk. I think only a few places in uk do it. I’m at Kings in London (and have been with them on and off for 7yrs) and they’ve never done it…. Having said that, I’ve never asked! I’ll just have to wait til cb give me 3weeks + ! (Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 ) 🙂

Booked in with the clinic for an early scane on 3rd April. Not sure how I will last 3.5weeks. And i have a pulling sensation this morning, so I reckon I may not even make it to the 3rd. Lets see.

Evi83 · 10/03/2025 13:46

.... ha, and this afternoon i have spotting. I reckon this is the beginning of the end. Feel like a fool for having ever thought it could have been so simple after all the utter s* that we went through before.

OP posts:
Evi83 · 10/03/2025 14:28

(and i just confirmed it on a CB test, which has gone back down to 1-2, after being up at 2-3 for the last week).

@Evi83 it sounds like you’re on abit of a rollercoaster with all this, I’m sorry it’s so difficult isn’t it? Spotting is honestly 50/50 so many people spot and move into MC and so many are fine even after bleeding.

Can you ask your clinic to do bloods (even if you pay) or to bring your scan earlier? Anything after 6w is usually acceptable as they can see a heartbeat.
I’ve had some red blood in my CM last week, so my clinic have brought my scan forward from 7+2 to 6+2. I’ve also had x2 ectopics and a MMC.

mine also don’t do bloods (nhs) but managed to beg them to do them for me this week given the spotting and by some miracle they’ve agreed. I’m 4+6 today and also on a 2-3. Urine is so unreliable though and the tests will send you insane. Hope you can get some support from your clinic and fingers crossed it’s all ok for you x

Evi83 · 10/03/2025 19:05

@Quaver9 Thanks so much.
I’d be 4+4 today so we’re v close in dates.

That’s great that you’ve managed to persuade your clinic to do bloods. Hopefully your tests come back looking good. And I think your 2-3 CB sounds positive too. Fingers crossed your blood last week was just a bit of implantation bleeding.

My spotting feels exactly like the start of a period, and the cramping too. I feel like I’d be kidding myself if I tried to be positive about it being anything else.

Im Going to keep taking meds and see what happens over next few days. I don’t really want to call the clinic cos there’s nothing they could do now anyway if it hasn’t worked. I do just feel like an idiot this evening tho - I think large quantities of chocolate might be required. What a rollercoaster!

best of luck with your blood test. Really hope it all goes well 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi OP, sorry you’re having such a ride with this. As PP said I would largely ignore the CB test to be honest.

I also had spotting around 5 weeks and it turned out to be nothing. It also could be progesterone levels being a little low, not sure when your clinic last tested these for you.

On the off chance you want to do bloods then Ultrasound direct do HCG tests (and progesterone) that you can usually book in very easily:

https://www.ultrasound-direct.com/services/blood-tests/beta-hcg-blood-test

they also are willing to scan from 6 weeks.

good luck - I have everything crossed for you!

Beta HCG Blood Test

Book your private Beta HCG blood test for early pregnancy at your local clinic.

Evi83 · 10/03/2025 20:03

Thanks @Zypig for the intel. That’s very kind to share, I’ll definitely have a think about the test. Progesterone levels haven’t been tested but I’m on cyclogest 2x a day. Will see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for reassuring me that your 5 week spotting was nothing 🩵

OP posts:
Miraclemuma03 · 11/03/2025 04:25

How are you going today? Ignore the weeks indicator tests, they are very unreliable especially so early on. Has the spotting stopped? Early pregnancy cramps and spotting can be very normal. Don't give up just yet. I would try to get blood work done if you can amd track that way. This ttc business is so hard and stressful.

Evi83 · 11/03/2025 11:14

Ah thanks for thinking of me @Miraclemuma03 . Still very light spotting on off, brown, defo feels like the start of my period. And my nausea that i had at the end of last week has gone away. I'm still taking the progesterone, which is probably holding off my full period. Can't face calling the clinic just yet.
I did 5 rounds IVF, 5 transfers to get my daughter - 1mmc, 2CPs - so I'm not sure what made me think we'd get lucky first time this time around. I turn 42 this summer. We have one frozen embryo left, then we have to consider IVF again, but me and my eggs will be nearly 5ys older than the last time, and I can't imagine the quality will have improved at all! Lots to think about. May get my husband to call the clinic later cos I can't bare it. 💛

Your not out until your full flow shows. How are you today?

Evi83 · 12/03/2025 09:42

@Miraclemuma03 no full flow just yet, but a bit more spotting, and a bit of red (& clotty, sorry TMI!!). So i'm pretty sure I'm out now. Going to be brave and call the clinic and see what they say about whether to stop the progesterone.
x
p.s. Nevermind the ptsd / trauma from all the negative pregnancy tests, chemical pregnancies and mmcs.... between the yucky discharge and having to put your finger up your bum to insert pessaries, it's all so gross isn't it! I was out last night and had to slip away to do a pessary, and I came back to my friends, and sat there thinking 'none of you knew i had my finger up my bum 2 minutes ago', and i had to stop myself getting the giggles. Ah, at least I'm laughing about it all now!

OP posts:
Miraclemuma03 · 12/03/2025 09:48

@Evi83 im so sorry you have to go through this again. I hope in some miracle that you have a haematoma that is causing the bleeding and clots and not actual because your miscarrying. Definitely give your clinic a ring and discuss this further with them, maybe they will offer blood work to track your hcg.

Oh God I had a massive giggle about the pessaries. It's so true it's so disgusting what we have to go through to try to have a baby. My friend is currently pregnant and we were talking about the ivf and I said "it's not as easy as just spreading your legs and an accident comes along" she thought that was funny as that's exactly what happened to her.

Evi83 · 12/03/2025 09:48

p.s. booked in for a blood test this morning. Never asked for one before. Wish I'd known my clinic did them - i could have gone in 2 days ago!

It definitely doesn't hurt to ask. The worst that can say is no lol but in your case they do them. Yay!!!
