Thin lining: anyone had better luck with natural FETs than medicated?

I've had issues with lining being 'on the thinner side'.

2 medicated FETS, 1 medicated FET cancelled and 2 IVF cycles all had my lining between 6-7.5 mm.

However on the cancelled medicated FET cycle and a previous IVF cycle my lining had started to disintegrate.

On the cancelled FET it collapsed from 6.7 to 6.2 and on an IVF cycle it went from 7.3 down to 7.

My consultant said if it happens again he wants to try a natural cycle. I don't really understand why it collapses.

I am on very high amounts of eostrogen. I'm trying all the normal measures, acupuncture, pomegranate juice, vit e etc.

Just wondered if anyone has had bad luck with medicated FETS and went on to have success with natural FETs?

I naturally have quite light periods so I'm worried doing a natural FET will be even worse.

@Orangewillow Thabk you. This time it was estrogen patches, 2 every other day from cycle day 2 as well as 75mg of aspirin daily. I had also taken up running again, not sure if that helped with the blood flow.

Letrzole awlaya used to make my lining super thick, however it also made me bleed, typical.

Hi @Orangewillowi am in the middle of a mock cycle at the minute where I am basically having a totally natural cycle but with a scan on cycle day 12 to see what my lining looks like and then agree next steps for the actual FET cycle. It was CD 12 today and my lining is 5.8-6.4. Going to have a call with my consultant to decide between natural or super ovulation (stims) for the next steps. I think I have decided I am going to try the stims approach for the FET. Have u started yet?
I feel a bit down that my lining on a natural cycle was also on the thinner side, although I know 6.4 isn’t too bad. My consultant has set my cut off as 6.5 so I was close.

what probiotics are u taking? I will also be taking them for my FET.

@AlanTitsmarsh Thank you. Yes all going good, have had 2 scans 6+4 & 8, and everything is good. I'm currently 9+2.

I really hope ladies finally get your lining strong and a sticky one stick. I'm in depths of anxiety at the moment waiting for 12 week scan. I'm convinced it's all going to go wrong or due to my age, there will be an issue. I'm classed as high risk due to age and BMI.

@AnonS I’m so glad to hear this. I am keeping everything crossed for a positive 12 week scan. do you mind me asking what your lining got to on this cycle?

@AlanTitsmarsh Parts were between 7.6-8.5mm I have a T shaped uterus so it's quite difficult to get a proper reading. During the 8 week viability scan, a nurse who has seen me many times even commented she is amazed how my lining got to that with just being on estrogen patches considering the issues I have had. That cycle I was much more relaxed, didn't cut out anything. Continued with alcohol, caffeine etc (until transfer). My partner even said he had noticed it in me overall. Who knows whether that helped.

@Orangewillowi now have treatment plan confirmed, low dose of stims and more tracking scans. Think my period will arrive in about 10 days and I can start then. Hoping we have better luck!

Hi @AlanTitsmarsh how did you get on? I've taken a bit of time out from mumsnet but wanted to share how I got on - I did ivf stims on menopur (300) and my lining responded so much better than on the oestrogen. After about 6 days got to 6.8-7 and Dr said good to go, on transfer day mt lining had got to 8.9 which I've never seen before!

That transfer was a success and I'm currently 10 weeks, and keeping everything crossed things continue well.

I was taking probiotics and eating well but otherwise nothing special and decided to just live my life, went to a few festivals in the TWW, and generally kept pretty busy! I think the ivf stims made a big difference for me, it worked better and was just a lot less time on meds so I went into transfer feeling better in myself, and with a better lining than in the 1st attempt. Plus my progesterone was better as I had some naturally, although I'm also on max dose of extra!

@Orangewillow Congratulations. Hope the 1st trimester isn't treating you too bad. Weeks 6-14 were awful in my eyes, glad I am out the other end now.
