Long story short.
Was having the tests and checks for IVF and all good to go. Several months later I have bad stomach which turns out to be Raised CA125 & a Huge Cyst on my right ovary.

Fast forward the Oncologist has advised that I need open surgery to have both overies and uterus out as cyst not looking too pleasant......I can opt for just removing just the cyst and then seeing how it all looks with the hope of trying to keep the left ovary in tact for a potential egg retrival...however that means a potential second open surgery later down the line if its cancerous.

If it turns out the cyst is benign, then ive just ripped out my whole reproductive system.

Some kind words and advice please x

What a horrible stressful situation - all my best wishes.

It's going to be difficult for anyone to weigh in I think, as presumably this needs to be guided by your oncologist. They will need to let you know the risk of any spread if it's the worst case scenario and you delay. If a month or two wouldn't make a drastic difference maybe you could go for the collection.

Would you be looking at surrogacy overseas?

Do you happen to already know your AFC and AMH? Just because more than one egg collection round would usually be required at 41 so it's whether that would be feasible treatment time wise.

@sirensong Its prob out date now with all of this, but the Dr did say it was good for my age and proceed.....ugh life

I would personally be prepared to undergo two surgeries for a roll of the dice on fertility preservation.

Whether you can take several months out to do a couple of back to back duo stim rounds will be for the consultants to guide on though. If you do go for it, freeze embryos not eggs.

Very best of luck.
