Hi ladies,

Starting early with this thread in hope some are on a similar time frame!

36yo, been trying to conceive for 2yrs. Severe MFI as well as AFC of 3 and AMH of 1.9pmol/l

First IVF cycle with ICSI ended with a total failed fertilisation - 4 eggs collected, all mature but no fertilisation.

We have now switched to long cycle and added in DHEA, COQ10, melatonin, vitamin D, omega 3 alongside our fertility vitamins.

I should start my period end of Jan; and then start down-regulating February with transfer hopefully late February if I’ve worked it out right!

Anyone else on this mental torture of a ride?

Messaged clinic last night, they’ve replied saying keep scan until next week so finished bleed. Makes no sense as I wouldn’t have finished bleed even if AF had arrived on time but hey ho, putting my trust in the clinic 😜

@Nads2210 That's wonderful, Congratulations! I know it's hard but try not to worry over line strength; at 7DPT it has every right to be faint and from your message it's clear that it did strengthen across last few days. Also , having symptoms is a good sign, your body knows something's up! 💖

@captainsmal I'm glad you can progress on schedule 😄 And absolutely agree, Norethisterone is awful, felt rubbish all the way through taking it and a few days past, and the period after was worse for me too. Sending virtual hugs.

@Happibara tbh I’m quite blessed/lucky with my normal cycle I just have some cramps maybe the first day then nothing at all so it’s probably just me not being used to it 😅
@ivfjourneyandme I’m sure some of the things that clinics do make no sense but they’re the experts lol 😂 do you know when you’ll start stims after next weeks scan?

@captainsmal i think it all depends if ovaries look ‘quiet’ and switched off. If they do, then I believe I start then? 🤷‍♀️

@ivfjourneyandme 🤞🏻🤞🏻 then! Have you got all your meds already? So you can just start asap after the scan if they say you’re ready? I’m not having any kind of baseline scan which I think is weird but apparently they don’t do it at my clinic 🤷🏼‍♀️

I even read so many reddit threads how intresting in America they do beta tests rather then reliant on HPT?
I also decided to be selective lol so the positive things i was like yup thats what will happen & the neg stuff i was like scroll past that love 🤣

@Nads2210 yeah they seem to do a lot of blood tests there don’t they? I’m just reading ones that are similar like people who had the same meds as me or who had success with unexplained or Mfi lol

Yeah they do tbh i wouldn't mind having bloods done before a viabilty scan just to save myself from any heartache seeing it on a screen (no heartbeat etc) would be awful.
It is good to just see others experience, My husbands the opposiite to me & i'm like yeah you do you & just let me google away in peace 😂

@captainsmal ahhh im so sorry you’ve been struggling, I too had a big mood crash when I stopped the norerhisterone. Glad AF has finally turned up (sorry the cramps are so awful) and you’re still on track!!

Am i right in thinking fron the point of transfer its 2weeks + days of embryo (mine was 5dt no clue of grading & was hatching) x

@captainsmal nice to see you back, I hope the stim phase is gentler on you. It’s amazing how much the hormones affect your MH, not to mention all the stress/delays.

@Nads2210 congratulations! Your symptoms sound positive so hopefully the lines will darken with time 🤞

@Happibara my clinic also want two bleeds between EC and FET. My withdrawal bleed has already started, 5 days after EC. So lets see when my natural cycle resumes. That's annoying in regards to the side effects of Prostap - waiting + more waiting can feel so frustrating.

@Nads2210 hoping this is the cycle for you! So hard not to google everything, I'm also one of those people! And my partner sounds like your husband 😂 he always asks what I'm reading and it's nearly always IVF stuff right now!

@captainsmal sorry to hear you've been feeling crappy. It's difficult enough anyway without all the hormones all over the show and playing havoc. Hope the stims is easier on you. Fyi my clinic also didn't do a baseline scan before starting stims, not sure why. Only realised that was a thing when others were saying on here. Thinking about it, our procedures seem quite similar.

Unfortunately still BFN today (9dt5dt) on my otd. I really appreciate all your kind words over the past few weeks, this thread has been an amazing support for me so thank you all.

I called the clinic to let them know and I arranged an appointment with the consultant for this Friday. I'm hoping to convince the consultant to let me do a FET with my next period (AF not here yet but presumably will arrive in the next few days). Let's see what he says. Otherwise it will be FET with my cycle at the end on March which I know if not as long a wait as others have but it still seems like forever to me 😥

@Cherryblossom90 our EC were the same day and i’ve been waiting to see how you got on. I’m so sorry you got a BFN, i know it’s so disappointing. Hopefully your clinic will let you do an FET with your next bleed. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Congrats to anyone who’s gotten there BFP, looks like there’s been some great success with retrievals for a lot of people. Sorry to anyone who hadn’t gotten the news they hoped for.

I finally got my bleed this week and feel like i can breathe again. Honestly, I can’t believe the recovery after EC was so hard, my last one back in 2022 was nothing like this one! Anyway, now i’m feeling human again, we have scheduled a follow up for Monday with our consultant to find out what happened during EC and discuss the level of drop off for non mature eggs retrieved. We are thrilled with our 2 frosties and have decided we want to use my March bleed to transfer, CD 1 will probably be in and around w/c 24 March.

I haven’t gotten to speak to my clinic yet but i’ve never done an FET before only a fresh transfer. Can anyone explain how it works, is it a much quicker process, some meds from day 1 and then a transfer between CD 16-21?? When i google it i get lots of different info!

I know each clinic will be different!

@Cherryblossom90 really sorry about the BFN, it’s so hard and the wait to go again is really tough, I’ll be in the same boat as you if I also get a negative in the next few days - be April probably before we can do a frozen transfer x

@Nads2210 I’ve been testing every two days anyway just to keep an eye on the trigger so I’ll keep doing that, if I don’t I just send myself doolally so it’s the best for everyone all round. Find it easier to ease into a negative this way rather than be shattered on OTD x

@Cherryblossom90 Thank you 💖 I am so very sorry this cycle didn't work & it takes a different kind of courage to wish someone well when you're dealing with heartbreak yourself, I appreciate it & pray you're able to go ahead for next cycle & it ends with success x sending virtual hugs x
Being able to chat to others going through the exact same albeit strangers brings comfort & support that even family cant give x (for me personally anyway)

@Quaver9 I completely get testing beforehand as i've been the same although at times it's been deflating but id much rather be prepared for OTD, Hope you see a 2nd line soon x

My EC went well today although I’m quite sore. 14 eggs collected and 8 mature which is a record for me! Maybe it was the acupuncture or all the dietary changes she suggested, who knows. Fingers crossed for some embryos and they want me to go again in April for my final cycle.
